I worked at Autoliv as an intern

    Pros

    - Gain experience with embedded systems
    - Respectful environment
    - Engineers are willing to help you out

    Cons

    - Internship was slow to start; they get you materials after you arrive, and don't prepare them beforehand
    - Sometimes projects seem to lack direction
    - Sometimes assigned with busywork- not ideal for an engineering internship
    - Some work did not require an engineering degree to handle

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to organize what you want from your interns, prepare objectives and tools required beforehand

    Pros

Friendly people, A lot of room to explore, experiment. and learn. As long as you get your job done, everyone is happy.

    Cons

Not much mentor ship. Mostly on your own to learn. Although they are picking up on that.

I worked at Autoliv full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Job security, cleaninness of the shop, equipment

    Cons

Too many politics, i was hired by a third company, reviews (90 days) where done by someone who wasn't even in the shop. I could never discuse a salary adjustment with my supervisor or even a manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut the middle man on the reviews, salary discussion has to be done by direct supervisor or direct supervisor has to be present at the time of review and able to know the pay rate of employees.

I worked at Autoliv full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The pay wasnt too bad. I made alot of friends.

    Cons

Overworked their employees like no other. They treated alot of them like dirt. the breaks were short and so was lunch. everything was all messed up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the management that I had wasnt very good at all, but im sure theres much better out there. my advice would be to listen to your employees more and have a little consideration.

    Pros

Health Benefits, flexible when going to school.

    Cons

Never know when your getting a raise. You have to beg to get one.
If your going to school and get your degree, don't expect a promotion.
I know 5 people that left the company after getting there degrees. I'm next.

I worked at Autoliv full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    nice bunch of people
a lot of international people and that is pretty much it
somewhat good pay package, if you got good negotiation skills

    Cons

-twelve hour shifts in the weekend, that are re-compensated in 3free days (though in money that would mean more) - but the framework is illegal for that
    -no professionalism
-HR employees discussing sometimes their processes of recruiting in front of others
-long time to get to the office, no paid extra hours
-expectation to stay over working hours, but no clear statement that transportation would be paid for doing this when staying over hours as the offices are far out of town and no public transport available
-no real training, just inside - so no possibility of certification training and no recreational facilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

might want to pay more attention why all your good people are leaving and you only stick with the lot, and stop favoritism and nepotism.
