Pros – Easy work life.. (old iron mountain type) , no work pressure, like a government job. Nice building, good surroundings. Friday lunches, coffee.!
Cons – Iron mountain India is now called Autonomy India (merger), I am an IRM employee who came over to Autonomy.
When you want to leave Autonomy to go to a different company, be prepared to lose heavily. Remember the IC/RC bonus you were supposed to get? You will not get it any more: if you are in your 2 months notice period. And your bonus for Jan-Dec will be paid next mar/april. So if you want to leave before June 1st, forget the last year's bonus. The 2 months notice period is not something mentioned in the handbook of the company: where it is at will. It is just a HR thing!
Goodbye suckers, and thanks for all the fish. I am out of here in a week!
Advice to Senior Management – Please fix HR and finance policies. Make work interesting. Reward top performers more often. reduce red tape and other overhead. Faster releases. Take peer and manager reviews more often.

Current Employee – been working at Autonomy
Pros – Pays good thats about it
Cons – They run it like a start up company
Advice to Senior Management – To actually have some policy and procedures on what needs to be done. Also to not push everything last minute

Current Employee – been working at Autonomy
Pros – - a Cambridge/English company doing things its own way and taking on the world
- the chance to work with the world's leading companies on genuinely world-beating software
- Christmas party weekend in a foreign city (Lisbon, Dubrovnik, Venice, Rome...)
- due to the flat structure, everyone comes in as a manager, managing yourself with only infrequent input from above. Both a pro and con (see below)
Cons – - little or no direction from line manager on where this is all going. Entirely unavoidable situation due to the flat structure mentioned above
Advice to Senior Management – - as great as it is to be different and not bow down to conventional ways of doing things, still tone things down a little bit - some of the ways in which the company is run are a little too wacky even for my tastes

Current Employee – been working at Autonomy
Pros – Tremendous company growth to the point of a startup feel. Aggressive senior management that knows how to pursue deals and market and create technically capable products. Technically superior products.
Cons – The focus on employees takes a distant back seat to the focus on growing the company. Employees are burnt out, recognition and compensation and emphasis on training is generally poor or a mixed bag. There is no real emphasis on creating a working environment where people would want to be. Empowerment and support by upper management to middle management is generally poor.
Advice to Senior Management – Show more appreciation to your employees particularly the ones killing themselves to make you successful at all levels.

Current Employee – been working at Autonomy
Pros – Good salary, very lean and efficient. Well managed. Very centralized decision making. Makes it fast and responsive to changes especially for acquisitions.
Cons – Work your ass off. Call you on weekends or late at night. If you are not at good terms with the key people, your life can be a hell.
Advice to Senior Management – Open up to globalization guyz. The companies are becoming transnational now-a-days where they can leverage the relative advantages in each country to the success of the company. The management would just not understand the cultural and political differences between countries.

Current Employee – been working at Autonomy
Pros – The work is interesting, the salary is good, the benefits package excellent.
Cons – Many employees are overworked, communication within the company poor, even within individual teams
Advice to Senior Management – More communication, more team-building neccessary. Nurture the new hires - especially the ones straight out of college - more and don't drive them nearly as hard.

Current Employee – been working at Autonomy
Pros – People tends to fall into a number of camps... those who've been here years; Those who've joined by acquisition and the remainder new hires. Needless to say those who've been here years fit like a glove... those by acquisition who then leave hate it and those who stay put up with it. New hires either love or hate it mainly dictated by age (not always but in the main).
Cons – run on a tight budget and objectives (which is not a con) but the way its achieved is like boot camp in winter! OK if you're obsessive but stay away if not!
Advice to Senior Management – Loosen up and fly a little higher and share the profits a bit more with whole company instead of "stars"!!! Could do with more communications and less instructions
