A mixed bag of positives and negatives

    Sales Executive (Current Employee)

ProsFor sales, your part of larger sales footprint calling on customers.

    ConsSome products are behind competitors.

    Advice to Senior ManagementBe competitive.

Still needs to organize, streamline and sort out product problems

    Account Executive (Current Employee)

Proslots of work flexibility, interesting technology, with a big push and support from the wider HP. great office locations, and a lot of investment in training/personal development

Constoo many product issues lead to more discussions with irate clients than selling to new ones. too many product divisions and sales groups leads to huge internal collaboration problems. Base compensation below industry average

    Good team, OK company

Technical Support Engineer (Current Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsGreat co-workers, interesting product, great clients -- OK company with an average reputation and now part of a legacy company with reputation in question

ConsAutonomy may or not find its way as part of HP -- the parent company is so large and at such a questionable place on its own timeline -- it's hard to see where or in what form Autonomy will be a factor in its life and work

Advice to Senior ManagementConnect with workers with bonuses and in-person conferencing to build loyalty, otherwise attrition will continue and the ideas that could enhance its relevance will go with exiting workers

Work which is intellectually engaging at times and offers a flexible schedule but overall a numbing cultural experience.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsGenerous vacation is offered. Allows for a relaxed work-lifestyle given that your work schedule can be flexible. Exposure to other product offerings and possible career changes. Employees with a proactive attitude can thrive here. Good stock options or restricted stock units rewarded. Good bonus plan.

ConsAn ambiguous company structure from an employee career growth perspective. No annual salary increases. Additional compensation based on qualitative milestones. Employee review or assessments are not well structured or non-existent in some cases. Impersonal culture.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide career paths or options for employees. More clarity to the review process for employee performance assessment and its translation to compensation.

Will never become a big player because they don't treat employees with respect

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsHP recently purchased them and appears changes are coming (hopefully to management)
    Pay is OK
    They have Free Lunch Fridays

    ConsTreat employees poorly
    Management is clueless
    No advancement opportunities
No HR review process or annual raises (get your money going in because you will never see another dime)
    High turnover rate

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a review process for employees and merit increases
It is hard to keep good people if you do not incent them!
For the love of god.... contribute more than $1000 annually to 401K. Most real companies match employees contributions!

    OK company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsIt has some good technologies and smart peoples. It also pays good after merger with other small companies.

Consbenefits are not good. the company is pretty stringent on everything, from pc, laptop and other stuff. Low benefit matches.

Advice to Senior Managementplease offer good benefit packages, good 401k matches. Put more energy on research and development, not only on sales.

    The Computer Associates of England

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Jose, CA

ProsThere are some very smart people working here. Autonomy has interesting core technology and a good story behind it. It continues to grow and is constantly moving.

ConsAutonomy has been swallowing up companies. It doesn't make the best decisions about how to use those resources. Decisions are often made from the top. There is no management structure so communication about important changes are often through the rumor mill.

    Unstructured but successful company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsGreat commission if you are successful

ConsLackluster training, huge pressure to perform with little ownership of sales process by others.
