    Pros

Most employees have a strong work ethic and are very willing to work across the aisle with other departments to improve the Member Experience. The Gainesville HR department is very supportive and approachable.

    Cons

Talented and experienced employees are let go arbitrarily with little or no severance at the whim of Senior Leadership. Front-line management has no input into these decisions and are left without resources to develop their newer and less-experienced employees.

    Advice to Management

Do something about your Miami HR department.. Your remaining talent will leave en mass as soon as they can to avoid being the next target. While downsizing may be a necessary evil t o manage operational costs, demoting your management level employees and eliminating your higher-paid experienced work force is gutting this great company.

    Pros

    Pros

Coworkers are generally nice and helpful. Customer service to members is very good. Salaries and benefits are competitive. Cannot really think of any other pros in working here.

    Cons

Upper management on a local level (South Florida) is archaic and no longer relevant. At least 10 employees have left the Network area in the past year, many not even lasting a year with the company. Systems are outdated as are internal processes. Human Resources in Miami is worthless in that they do not listen to or properly address employee concerns, and fail to act on repeated complaints. The work environment is extremely depressing - lighting is dark; furniture is old, mismatched and broken; cubicles are all different shapes, sizes and colors; walls are filled with holes and are dirty; many areas have old wood paneling and vertical blinds, half of which are missing or broken. Wall art has to be 20+ years old. The garage and stairwells are extremely dirty and full of cobwebs, and in dire need of cleaning and painting. Of course HR and the Executive Offices are new and well appointed.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management in Gainesville should realize that if there are repeated complaints and constant turnover in South Florida, then there needs to be a complete overhaul of Upper Management. There are many internal ethical and HIPAA violations, and the company should take immediate action before they are faced with a serious complaint or even lawsuit.

    Pros

The people I have met while working here are pleasant and, I believe, truly want the organization to grow and prosper. Everyone seems to care about the welfare of others.

    Cons

I feel as though I am on a ship without a captain. There is no corporate communication of goals or direction. Communications are sent from the Central plan office to clients without the knowledge of account managers, which allows for quite a bit of "blind siding". I have never worked for a company that is this dysfunctional. I feel as though I am surrounded by misfits. No training is provided so you had better know what you are doing before you start. Most of my peers are not willing to share any of their knowledge for fear that you may be looked upon more favorably than they. It's just a weird place. I hate to dog it like this, but anyone thinking about a career here may want to think twice before coming on board. Pay is minimal, performance is not rewarded.

    Advice to Management

Take pride in your employees. Train them so they can grow into a truly knowledgeable workforce. You are becoming a company of mental midgets. Invest in systems infrastructure and get rid of the pieced together garbage you are currently using. Our customers are demanding it and we had better start delivering. Stop wasting your money on "leadership conferences". They are not working. Demand more of your middle managers regarding operational issues, which do not get resolved. Bring in some new blood and get rid of the dead wood.
