    Pros

Great line of products. Innovative. Resilient. Pay is above average.

    Cons

frequent leadership changes. Company has done away with paid time off and moved to discretionary time off. Not sure how this will affect the long timers and future recruits. Work load is very high. Almost unmanageable at times. Company is making a lot to changes to become lean.

Former Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Southfield, MI

    I worked at Avaya full-time

    Pros

Avaya products and solution are tops in their class and their people are intelligent with good work ethics. The salaries are good and so are the benefits.

    Cons

The current leadership seems to be conflicted in the direction that Avaya will be going. Having much of their backbone support remotely located in non- US countries has opened up complaints from internal employees and customers because of language issues with this foreign staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Having the backbone support located in the US makes more sense for US customers and employees. The constant repeating of information because you can not understand what the person is saying is an unreasonable burden for customers especially.

I worked at Avaya full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Respectable market position if only bold enough to fully leverage it. Needs decisive actions (leadership change) to move forward. Good comraderie in the trenches

    Cons

Increasingly challenging environment with revolving door of leadership. Mass exodus of talent over the past few years leaves the business a hollow shell

I worked at Avaya full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It was a great place for the team I was on to function in the best interest of the customer. The technology was interesting enough to keep things interesting.

    Cons

A lot of turnover in the management ranks made you feel like you could get whiplash at times with direction changing frequently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of "pay for performance" sometimes called "stacking" in other organizations.

Current Employee - Sales Engineer in Atlanta, GA

I have been working at Avaya full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Strong team to work with in my geography. Hard work yields results and recognition. Can do pretty much what you want to develop your career and experience. Good immediate leadership.

    Cons

Frequent executive changes, product roadmap changes, product management changes. Back office processes need to be fixed, everyone should be working with the same goal in mind - customer satisfaction and getting things done. Services should worry about serving the customer and las about closing their tickets and incorrect records showing no support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix internal processes if you really want to move this company forward. Develop easily digestible product roadmap and stick to it.
