    Pros

Good pay & decent benefits.Paid holidays & sick time.

    Cons

As said in another review that there can be evident favoritism but nothing that I would consider a deal breaker.

    Pros

They are not shy about giving you meaningful orojects. They won't send you on wild goose chases. I have really been able to build up my resume while working here.

    Cons

Everything is a rush. Everything is a priority. Yet everything takes months to accomplish.

    Advice to Management

When everything is a priority, nothing is a priority. Focus on a strategy and orchestrate activities according to the outcomes we are looking for.

    Pros

    Great benefits. Great pay. Stable.

    Cons

Disorganized. Information travels through the wrong ducts. Not enough training. Higher ups (including direct managers) don't talk to the people who actually do the day to day work before making decisions about the job roles

    Pros

You make your future at Avery. If you want to climb the ladder you can. Must accept the mind set of "change" constant changes is Avery's way.

    Cons

Been with Avery for over 30 years. In the 30 years I have had over 26 managers. If you can adapt to changes in work ethics every 1 or two years you will make it. I did !!

    Pros

Work with knowledgeable staff. Room for growth. Leader in industry.

    Cons

Lots of politics. Too many meetings. Difficult to make changes.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to tell between a high and low performer. Use the carrot and stick accordingly.

  8. Good for family oriented people, sustainable career possible, good for self driven people

I have been working at Avery Dennison

    Pros

People are self driven. There is a lot of autonomy in jobs and very less micromanagement.

    Cons

Environment can seem slow at times. Morale low sometimes due to layoffs

    Advice to Management

Be clear in target strategy- product orientation or customer orientation?

    Pros

human resources management is based on strong values of being fair with employees. There are less and less companies fitting that description

    Cons

Like most larger organizations you have to navigate through some levels of politics. It is not over the board but you need to be aware of it to progress.

    Pros

Great place to work. From what I can see they will work with you for promotions. Lots of young people with many in management positions.

    Cons

Yearly review process is tedious but it is the same at all larger companies. In some ways I think the young people are put in management positions to reduce cost since the years of experience is certainly not there.

    Advice to Management

Value experience more than the college someone attends.

  11. Extreamly Poor Upper Leadership Management

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Hours are light and somewhat flexible. Mangers are barely in the offices so no one is watching. People naturally disappear after 4 or on Fridays. Salaries are not the best in this area but fair.

    Cons

Constant org changes, upper leadership team doesn't try to connect to the people and understand what really is going on. Uneven distributions for resources. Very limited opportunity for personal growth.

    Advice to Management

Think through at least a 60-day plan for any changes you make to the organizations. Crisper communication will be appreciated.
