    Pros

Here, we can learn so many things, processes, and as the part of MT program it is one privilege to be close with the top management. For those of you who are willing to learn after graduating without considering salaries, this is one good place.

    Cons

    - Very poor compensation and benefits rate. As a huge global company, they don't pay you for what you deserve.
    - Management only appreciate the people who are willing to do according to what they want, not what actually is needed in the actual field. Meaning, you don't need to be very smart or to be very innovative by inventing what is necessary for the actual problems, but instead you just need to do what the management says, although you may feel it as ineffective or inaccurate
    - Management consists of bosses, not leaders
    - They don't listen, they assume.
    - Some jobs might make your work-life balance suffered a lot, and you might be very stressful while dealing with the people

    Pros

-Some wonderful people work at Avery Dennison.
    -Good working conditions and hours.
-A lot of long-timers: So in terms of the internal competition anything you bring will be new and have a positive reach.
-There are several go-to branding solutions that enable you to work successfully with most clients.
-People are willing to listen and to learn.

    Cons

    -Poor process.
-A lot of long-timers: So in terms of competition, some spend a lot of time jostling for continuance rather than dealing with embracing a new idea.
-Are things that hang from garments that ultimately get thrown away, or cut out something we want to be supporting, involved with and making more of?
-It ranks number two (from the bottom) of my worst experiences, in terms of giving everything and receiving nothing. *Sour grapes. Most definitely.

    Advice to Management

When we rely on information gathered by our trusted, who collect their information from their trusted, how many filters of ego and self interest and rivalry would you say that adds up to, and taking into consideration the combined force of these filters, is this information really to be trusted?

    Pros

Some of my co-workers were very competent high-functioning and intelligent professionals.

    Cons

The only focus was on the bottom line but oddly and even insanely, management had zero interest in supporting the manufacturing with staff, funds, HR advisement and support or in any other way that would have been productive. Worst job of my career.

    Advice to Management

Management at the corporate level probably does not even know what is going on at this location. Those responsible for the plant level (regional traveling management that makes the decisions for this location) knows what to do-they are just too concerned with focusing on their own careers to make any honest negative communications to their managers that might provoke positive change.

    Pros

The only reason you want to work here is for the money. Avery truly tries to compensate you for all the personal abuse they put you through. However, if continuous disagreement with the leadership team and a President, who is simply nuts, don't scare you, and if physically and mentally you can make it through strategies going in full circles, and a continuous deterorating financial outlook, then hang in there! You will be paid a nice sum eventually to leave, no questions asked ....

    Cons

A bi-polar President, who leads a "yes, Sir!" Team, uses the "f" word more than 10 times in a leadership team meeting and disregards employee input and expertise. A deteriorating market position. A desert of innovation paired with chaotic execution of strategy. A culture that is only marked by "fear".

    Advice to Management

A fish always starts to stink from its head!

The opportunity to design a new coating line, the people you work with.

    Cons

After 27 years service had to leave due to family circumstances, then they announce redundancy packages 2 months after. And they said nothing. Gave my all not impressed

    Advice to Management

You should reward loyal and hard working employees

    Pros

I legitimately can't think of any. I wish I could say I was exaggerating or being biased, but this is simply not a positive place to work. The only pro is that its a job. And in this tough job market you take what you can get. But even then I'd advise you to hold out a little longer and find a place you won't hate having to drive in to every morning.

    Cons

Management is terrible here. For a new employee there is usually some type of process where you at least attempt to integrate the person into the culture and the workplace environment. There was zero effort to do this whatsoever, especially on the workplace process side of things. I shouldn't have to beg my manager to know what a standard report should look like. And managers who can barely communicate what they want should not be managers in the first place, because they will inevitably take out their lack of ability on the team and lower morale.

The new work space is nice because its open and bright, but overall its not enough to redeem the company. Its a bit far from good places to eat too, which makes even enjoying your lunch time difficult.

    Advice to Management

Just because a person was good at their job and managed to not be fired for whatever extended period of time Avery kept them at that level, does not mean that person has the leadership capabilities to be a manager. Avery doesn't seem to get this, and for this reason has a terrible set of managers in place. One VP in particular doesn't even speak to his team directly unless through one person whom he has decided is his favorite. My manager has a severe inability to communicate what she wants, but is insistent on everything being the specific way she wants it. I've heard of other managers completely ignoring their team and then overworking them when senior management starts to ask questions. Its disgusting, really. Classic case of an old school company allowing the old school mentality to run it to the ground.
