    Manager Merry-Go-Round

Operations/Sales Manager (Former Employee) Houston, TX

ProsCompany car, free gas, interacting with lots of people daily.

ConsLong hours, always running, little room for advancement. You won't see your family! But, that is probably a matter of the city your work in. Houston churns managers and few stay. If you do, you get used to it, and love your coworkers, because they will be the only 'family' you see.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your managers as you do your rental sales agents! We train and coach them to make thousands of dollars in commissions, which we never see any of ( rather a tenth of annually).

    Mixed experience

    Manager (Current Employee) Parsippany, NJ

ProsGood people overall to work with and very knowledgeable of the car rental industry.

ConsNot much opportunity to advance. People stay here 30 years and become complacent with their jobs. Innovation is lacking while most people feel they have jobs for life here.

Advice to Senior ManagementBring in new blood as that's the only way you can hope to keep up with Hertz and Enterprise.
