I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It gave me a chance when I was young and just getting started. Good computer skill training. Good benefits overall. My immediate co-workers were friendly.

    Cons

I did not enjoy my management team and often felt held back. My manager one time kept track of how long I went to the bathroom (7 minutes). I was micro managed and felt underpaid and under appreciated. Truly lacked general appreciation on a regular basis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs more interpersonal skills and should be encouraging younger employees to innovate. The living the values awards should be more than once a year and regular recognition should be implemented.

    Pros

The job was fun. Company car.

    Cons

Very old school. No forward thinking. Organization driven by fear.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the directors and notice the turnover. You have a great product but mid level management is in fear of their jobs and it rolls downhill.

Good opportunity for college graduate if you want no free time, management threats, and a crazy amount of paper work.

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time

    Pros

    Company vehicle and that's it.

    Cons

1 manager to watch 30 employees is crazy. Responsible for more reports than possible to handle. 50+ hours minimum per week and no work life-balance. Very poor leadership and communication from everyone when in peak seasons. Poor quarterly bonuses even if location is doing excellent. To much gossip from sales associates which should not be allowed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

better work-life balance. Lets managers do their job as described when initially hired. Hire an admin person for reports and let managers focus on the important part...sales.

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Descent benefits & corporate discounts. Very casual work clothes (shorts in the summer time, jeans in the winter). Descent annual bonuses based on how the company did over all.

    Cons

Promotions are hard to get & transferring out is hard as well. There is a lot of favoritism in different departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to stay in their offices during regular business hours. Some managers come and go when they please. Most management also needs to be available to their employees when a "supervisory" call becomes available.

    Pros

THE MONEY IS AMAZING!!!! As a RSA. Learn how to "persuade" people to upgrade and buy insurance and this is THE BEST company to work for. Stay for a year or so make as much as you can and GTFO lbvvvvvvvs!

    Cons

EVERYTHING ELSE. The leadership and team are all back stabbing and sneaky. I should know I became drenched in the disgusting culture of the company. Everyone knows the evil backbone of this company yet no one does anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out! Step down and allow good clean hard working people who care about customers to replace you.

I have been working at Avis Budget Group part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

flexible hours, and u get to drive new cars

    Cons

pay is 8 dollars a hour, no benefits for part-time employees plus they don't wanna hire fulltime so they don't have to give them, ,co-workers don't work as a team, management doesn't care about nothing but getting the cars on the ready line, I see coworkers invading each other sexual space and that's against everthing they learned in training, if u clock in one min late that goes as a point twords u and if u get a certain Amount of points like 6 in your first 90 days u could be fired even if its one min late, they have no grace period or respect for people lives, a line of ppl could be waiting to clock on for 2oclock in the eveing and your scheduled to clock on at the same time as them, and your the last person to clock in and it was 2:01, they don't care they will give u a point, smh I mean it happen to me 3 times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

train your leads, make sure your management are looking out for their good and hard working employees, eliminate sexual harassment from the job and give part time workers an opportunity to progress, and give employees a 5min grace period

    Pros

You can make a lot of money during season as long as you are provided with cars to rent. Good benefits including sick days and paid vacation.

    Cons

No organization, lack of cars, no recognition for anything good. Its a roller-coaster of a job. You are part of a workers union here which offers both pros and cons itself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More support for front line employees. Counter managers should actually be at the counter.
