I have been working at Avis Budget Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good people with knowledge of the industry. Customer focus is good.

    Cons

Rental car industry is not a growth industry which limits opportunity to grow and be creative. Need leverage technology to a much greater extent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a longer term view of things

I have been working at Avis Budget Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Worked at the San Francisco Ca. location, did awesome selling there, coworkers and managers were great. I transferred to Louisville Ky for family reasons and I dread going to work now. Managers are unorganized, asking me for help, pay is drastically different as well as the commission. Although I appreciate them transferring me, I am now seeking another job. Tired of apologizing to customers because the managers cant do their job.

    Cons

The commission pay is drastically different. Not fair either. The location I work at does not follow the union contract either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out what your job is and do it. Don't hide for hours when us RSA's have to apologize to customers because they have to wait for more than 2 hours for a car they reserved... not fair that we take all the heat.

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

overtime by the boatloads great co workers driving cool cars long trips to far and out of state locations

    Cons

advancement is hard when they barely hire from with shift bid is awful because they have people who been there for ages and you can't get a better shift and the pay is pennies you'll have to work twice as hard to just to get by

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

sell outs who only look out for themselves and they would send their favorite employee up the river without a paddle most of the run around with like a chicken with its head cut off

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The benefits are superb and the people I worked with were great. I couldn't say anything bad about anyone I ever worked with during my time there.

    Cons

Managers micro-manage you and definitely feel like you have a baby sitter at all times. As an adult, there is no reason to make your employees feel like this unless they have proven themselves as unreliable. Pay is below industry standards, but I suppose the great benefits make up for that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look to your current employees who have the skills and knowledge of the industry. Do not only hire outside talent since they "might" bring new ideas. Start having fun again, like you used to, as going to work each day should not drain you as a person.

I have been working at Avis Budget Group

    Pros

Can make a lot in commission for a college-age student. A lot of employees have also been there for a good amount of time. Get to know your co-workers well, and have fun while building sales skills

    Cons

Sales-burn out.. Repetitive script & cheap customers. Micromanaged employees, poor fleet management. Senior agents get first pick on the good sales days regardless of performance

    Pros

If you are a good salesperson you can make a very good living.

    Cons

Co workers stay all in your business
    Very high school like environment
Tenured employees are very jealous of new comers that thrive
Union environment as far as scheduling, however not a good strong representation for disciplinary measures
    Not organized establishment
Managers are biased to the individuals that they prefer
Policies are not enforced across the board

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more attentive to employees needs, be present and make sure that you are there to assist and be present for customer problems and situations that may arise as opposed to hiding behind a radio or phone.
