    Pros

Job itself was good for experience and the training was decent.

    Cons

Brutal form of management. Unable to book any holidays unless you were friends with a manager. Zero prospect of promotion unless you are related to a manager. Expect to be doing every single job other than the one you were employed to do.

    Advice to Management

Delegate better and recognise people's strengths

I have been working at Aviva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My colleagues are amazing. Benefits are good. Gym in the building

    Cons

It's a sweat shop type of workplace with only 30 mins lunch. Management lacks the skills to actually lead their teams. If you want to get promoted, you will need to kiss the ground the manager walks on. Favouritism is how you will be promoted, and not because you have the skills and knowledge. I don't think I will be staying for the company much longer

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging and get rid of the sweat shop type of environment. Value your employees more as we all work hard.

    Pros

None at the moment, but it was once a decent place to work.

    Cons

No time to get your work done Letting your customers down because you have no time to deal with their requests Doing everyone else's work but your own (how is that for moral?) Huge case loads Feeling like the managers are doing you a 'favour' by granting you time off the phone Staying late to get things done (unpaid) Incompetent Business Managers who are completely out of touch with the job their staff do Incompetent Team Managers who do next to nothing Poor pay for the job we do (the work of maybe 5 different professions) Near impossible Pay Progression structure Experienced staff leaving and being replaced by temps Colleagues having emotional breakdowns

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to your staff because NO ONE is happy. This many people cannot be wrong. Stop whipping staff who are already under huge pressure. Give us time to help our customers because it is us who have to answer to them.

    Pros

I was lucky to find the best manager that I could have asked for. Good place to work if you dont fancy doing any work, simply having babies and starting a family - good mat leave package.

    Cons

Paying for y our own expenses out of your pocket, regardless of how much it costs. Poor management. No people/talent development. Ancient processes. 300 years of history - still dealing with past mistakes and bad decision making. under paid against the rest of the market - you can earn more working for charity. No strategy or direction.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees - making uninformed decisions will not help you in the future. Especially when you have lost the majority of your top performers in the past year. Soon you will have lost everyone who understands how to help your business perform.

    Pros

None, even the coffee machine was rubbish

    Cons

Populated by white middle aged, middle class blokes devising products nobody wants to buy with unsustainable commission levels to support greedy distribution channels

    Advice to Management

People who get a senior level job with Aviva sigh with relief they will never have to put in a hard day of graft ever again.
