I worked at Aviva as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

LEEDs Green company, wonderful new headquarters, amazing staff. Everyone I worked with was so nice, and helpful. The building was really nice with lots of windows. The executives has interior offices, because they believe that the majority of the staff deserves to be near the windows. Every desk was ergonomic and could be raised or lowered with the touch of a button.

    Cons

The parking lot was not covered, and in Iowa winters, and summers, was not very pleasant. Sometimes the cafeteria would get crowded, since the food serving space was not very big. I would have liked to have seen more varieties of things to eat.

I worked at Aviva full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I worked at Aviva for almost 2 and 1/2 years and simply loved it! Our team was extremely balanced in skills and responsibilities, so our contribution was quite effective and recognisable.

    Cons

We had a bit of a struggle with the Group team, specially when it came to highlight the regional and local needs as opposed to the global ones.

I worked at Aviva as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Personal responsibility - they give you responsibility and the space and time to deliver against those responsibilities.
People and culture - work life balance is important - people will work long hours to deliver to schedule but it is also considered important to have time with your families and friends.

    Cons

Group centre changes it's program structures a little too often the senior management changes lead to line changes and this does lead to project and program challenges.

All the managers I've been under are very supportive, so the company as a whole. I don't think you could get a better job for the money they pay
