Incompetence that your tax dollars are paying for

    Time To Go

Director (Former Employee) San Diego, CA

ProsI loved working with the people of this company. All were ready to accept any challenge and succeed. Most were the people that built BAE Systems from the old Mark Ronald days. The ethics of this company are outstanding and make decision making easy. They have a 9/80 work schedule and it is worth working here for but that would be it.

ConsWhen Mark Ronald left the company it went down hill fast. Two very bad CEO's ran the place into a management nightmare. They would like to be known as a great place to work but took so many things from the employees that it became impossible to be a great place to work.

Advice to Senior ManagementQuit threating your employees with layoffs and then expect them to be completely honest with you. Get rid of the "My way or the highway" mentality. You are pushing the innovation and big idea process out of the organization. We worked hard to get rid of the lawyers and accountants from running the company. If they continue they will bankrupt you. Walk your talk. You still are not doing it in I&S. Go get em Jerry DeMuro, you are the great hope for the people who want to be great at BAE. Get rid of the Lockheed mentality.

Like a Really Bad Soap Opera...

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chesapeake, VA

ProsDecent pay and benefits, and a few cool coworkers here and there.

Cons*Payroll and benefits are unreliable - there are constant mistakes and changes, and more
mistakes. If you don't watch your paycheck like a hawk, you'll end up shorted on something somwhere.

*Upper management is out of touch, there's no middle management, and supervisors
are in their positions due to seniority, not ability. They micromanage you because they have no
idea how to BE managers; but HEY, they have a degree, and they're friends with the good ole
     boy network!!!!

*If you kiss ass, have a crooked moral compass, and pretend to care about ethics and policy,
you will fit in perfect. If you are a good, honest hard worker, you can forget about ever going
anywhere in the company, or feeling like part of the "team".

    *NEPOTISM.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry actually following the ethics and SOP's BAE SAYS it follows in it's manuals; BE what you SAY you are!

The Devil wears Prada, and her sister works in accounting

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Rockville, MD

ProsGenerally nice people to work with. Opportunity to move to another department or sector is available should you have an 'outstanding' record.

ConsCons... where do I begin? The sector and department I worked for provided an environment that was suffocating with the pressure of a deadline no matter how big or small. There are no excuses. Little to no appreciation for the work that you do, or the hours you put in (work/life balance? HA! what life?). It is expected that you deliver perfect products every time. Heaven forbid you are allowed to take the initiative and be able to preform your job with out having to CC everyone on your emails including the queen of England. You are no longer an adult, you are a toddler that has to be told everything you are and are not allowed to do. You can not make decisions about anything, ever. No one is happy working there, stuck until we find something else. You are able to count on one hand the employees who have actually lasted 3 years or longer (that's 5 or under folks, not good). There are no promotions. You have to wait until they open up the next level of job, you have to then apply for the job (and contend with anyone else applying for it) and MAYBE get "level II, or III."

Advice to Senior ManagementRelax. Treat us with the respect that we are adults and we know how to complete a job.

This used to be a fantastic company to work for.

Associate All Source Analyst (Current Employee) McLean, VA

ProsThe company is loyal to the customer and does everything it can to abide by government rules and regulations.

ConsThis company treats its employees like they are expendable. Any complaint against management is met with threat of removal and subsequent admonitions.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake the time to vet your analyst. Too many of my peers lied on their resumes and are a complete liability while deployed out in the front lines.

    Total pressure everyday and uncertainty

Infor Systems Administration (Former Employee) North Charleston, SC

    ProsGood 401K and health benefits

    ConsInsincere Management that rarely communicates
Technicians have at least 30 bosses each and they all contradict each other
    400 people and 3 bathrooms
Human Resources looks after management and not the workers.
Small Pay raises, .30 cents per hour
Complex time sheet and charge code process
Extremely complex paperwork and documentation process

Advice to Senior ManagementI can't give any advice since they acted superior to the technical types.

    Unprepared to handle government contract.

    Aircraft Mechanic (Current Employee)

ProsNice uniforms. Received paychecks on time.

ConsThis company contested the contract bid until they got the government contract. This company then subcontracted our department to foreign based company who then gave responsibilities to a subcompany. It created an atmosphere of confusion and a slowdown in the supply line. It was obvious this company was not prepared with its policies and procedures to handle this particular government contract.

Advice to Senior ManagementUnderstand the contract, its requirements, and the people.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
