I have been working at BAE Systems USA

    Pros

Management willing to provide opportunities for growth and new challenges.
    Great work enviornment.

    Cons

Benefits continue to shrink and costs increase year after year.
As defense budgets shrink, the company has not been able to win new work, which has resulted in many lay-offs/down-sizing.

    Cons

Subject to Government funding even though BAE does its very best to keep you employed.

I worked at BAE Systems USA full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

BAE offered a competitive salary, lots of schedule flexibility, relocation pay since I moved there from a different part of the country, and paid overtime. I had to work 85 hours in a 2 week pay period to be paid for my OT, but after I reached 85, I was compensated for all of it (including the 81-85 gate). 9/80 schedule.

    Cons

DC area is a lousy location. This is not BAE's fault, however.

    Pros

Excellent place to work. As long as you got your work done the hours are very flexible. Good management, great coworkers, and great job security. You wont get bored working here.

    Cons

Promotions lag behind sister (BAE Endicott) location. Benefits, like many companies, are getting worse by the year.

I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Talent recognition and the ability of executive management on cracking the code in growth opportunities (translation: jobs and lots of engineering collaborations). First of all, I have been with the defense industry for over 15 years with two other defense companies (Lockheed and Raytheon) prior to joining the BAE Systems, Inc team. The environment at this BAE Systems facility (Fort Worth, TX) is like a start-up, to me that is a plus. Let me be clear, however, that the grass isn't always greener (see my cons).

    Cons

BAE Systems did away the pension system a long time ago. To be honest, this is the trend given that other defense giant such as Lockheed's CEO Marilyn Hewson announced back in 2013 that they are doing the same for all existing pension folks. Lack of opportunities for telecommute (nature of the job).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep it up.

I worked at BAE Systems USA

    Pros

Worklife and family balance is great. i had a very good manager who looked out for his people.

    Cons

More managers need to look out for their employee by making sure they are rewarded for the outstanding efforts they put forth all year long. The annual compensation if any...needs to be more realistic...they consider at a minimum a cost of living adjustment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop dishing out warehouse level increases to professional people that make the company billions!!
