I love the people I work with and our clients are the best.

Certified Senior Teller (Current Employee) Roanoke Rapids, NC

ProsTraining and updating are awesome. The banking rules and regulations change frequently, BB&T keeps its employees apprised and provides the training necessary.

ConsThey like to keep part-time tellers exclusively. Only two tellers at each branch are full time in my area.

Walk the walk don't just talk about values

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Winston-Salem, NC

ProsDepends on your manager. New Bank org chart came out beginning of January 2014 so maybe all employees will be included in same retirement benefits and opportunities.

ConsNot all employees get the pension. Many do and they assume everyone else does. In my 10 employee team everyone else including my manager had better retirement benefits.

Advice to Senior ManagementInequity in pay & promotions between BB&T Bank and BB&T Investments and BB&T Securities appears political.

    Something has to give

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat benefits. Not too many companies offer pension plans. Good health is encouraged through their Life Force program which offers discounts on health insurance premiums based on how healthy you are. Part time employees receive the same health coverage.

ConsLow staffing levels. No float staff to cover vacations, training or if someone calls out sick. Makes it very difficult to get the needed training to move up, and management seems to discourage or take offense if you request to apply for a higher position within the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementStick to the cultures and values that are preached to us day in and day out.
