    Interesting company in many ways

    Director (Current Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsThey appear to care about work life balance and allow a lot of virtual work in most departments. Health care is pretty good considering other items about the company. A lot of good people -

ConsLow salaries, terrible 401K and pretty weak vacation. I sometimes wonder about the ethics of this company - they really drink their own kool-aid when it comes to believing how wonderful they are. Considering the salary structure you would think the workload would not be as high as it is. Expectations are very, very high - almost unrealistic.

Advice to Senior ManagementWake up and invest in technology a bit more. Stop convincing yourselves that middle management, in most cases and Sr. Mgmt in some cases really get how to work with employee's. Just become someone is great at something doesn't mean they are a leader and should lead people!

A sad small group of sad angry people.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Burbank, CA

ProsDecent pay, and location and parking if you fight for it.

Consto many to list but, agents forced to work under conditions that they cannot be held accountable for. Training is a joke. and you can easily be thrown under a bus by employees to cover a mistake.

Advice to Senior Managementget rid of mid level managment, they are a nuisance, and counter productive

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    BCD Life

    Senior Travel Counselor (Former Employee)

ProsGood hours, good pay, work from home option

ConsTerrible management, I don't think management is at all monitored. Been in travel over 20 yrs & after BCD considered leaving travel together. When attempt to HR manager blocked it and called very pissed and threatening. Not to just me probably 3 coworkers as well.

Advice to Senior ManagementDale Carnegie courses, monitors are needed in place for managers.

Career stagnation, lack of employee development and weak middle mgmt

    Manager (Current Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsThe company at the highest levels has a sound base and strategic outlook. As a privately held company they have flexibility that isn't seen in public companies and you can tell they really do care about things.

ConsThe translation is lost in middle management and the companies ability to deliver on their 'development' and 'people' opportunities. Some of this may be symptomatic of the industry. A true global outlook is needed w/in the company. Pay is really below average and if you want to have ANY opportunity for advancement you really need to get on the client facing side of the business - at least you can get a 'title' and take that to other companies for leverage. Very title heavy with client-facing positions. Very, very slow to offer opportunities and develop their people - a lot of talk but no solid action.

Do NOT expect to make much money unless you are able to come in at a high salary and position.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay disparity between 'titled' positions and others. Middle Mgmt just doesn't get what it takes to develop people - on the same hand, upper mgmt needs to commit the resources to this and sometimes those resources are simply not cutting your staffing to the bare bones!

    Misleading!

    Financial Analyst (Current Employee)
    Southfield, MI

    ProsFlexible..great location and great hours..

ConsNo room for advancement, low salary for financial analyst, horrible health benefits and not a lot of training...Management not always pleasant. High turnover rate due to poor management.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive everyone a chance and not just the favorites....Learn how to communicate professionally...less turnovers will occur.

Needs Improvement from the management end.

    Corporate Travel Counselor (Current Employee)
    Portland, OR

ProsWork from home possibilties are good.

ConsThis company does not give out any type of bonus to it's agents.

The circle of excellence program is designed by management for mangement. Each year employees are nominated for this program, and get a trip to Mexico, about 70 - 80% are salaried employees who are choosen, very few of front line low payed employees get to attend.

Advice to Senior ManagementThs COE program should be evenly split 50/50 not the current way of doing it!
    Promote from within if possible.

There is a glass ceiling in this company. Hourly employees very rarly move into salaried positions.
Pay employees a bonus at the end of the year if the company is profitable.

    Mediocre at best.

Senior Corporate Travel Consultant (Current Employee)
    Portland, OR

ProsThe benefits are okay, work at home opportunities are great, some of the travel industry perks are still available (IATAN card, etc).

ConsCommunication between management and employees is abhorrent, pay is not very comparable to other corporate agencies in the area, technology is outdated (still using Windows XP and Office 2003), and many accounts seem to cycle through employees faster than a big box store. Most will never be promoted, unless they are willing to suck up to everyone around them. Management, at times, seems almost incompetent in that emails sent to employees are grammatically incorrect, are severely misspelled, and are generally unprofessional.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop promoting people based on nepotism, and please provided better software. What we have does not allow us to effectively do our jobs.

    Prosgood health benefits
    flexible work from home policy

Consstructure is completely off track too many high level managers that are not engaged
there is no advance in this office
employess don't care about the job they do

    Very bad

    Business Analyst (Current Employee)
    London, England (UK)

Proslot of trainings, good to develop some knowledges but still very limited. Excellent teamwork, nice colleagues, I really like.

ConsRidiculous salary, not human place. Everything has been removed. Social events etc. People are very depressed, moral is very low and we lost our motivation.
Management does everything for breaking moral and keep us depressed.too much work with a ridiculous salary. No reward, no bonus, not allowed to make extra.
Also, reporting tool uses an old technology and always instable. They call it " the future". (laugh)

Advice to Senior Managementstop this paternalist management, give us a human salary, strop trying to look professional where you are just ridiculous.
promote people by their duties, not by sucking up or being too much sociable. Career progression also, you always talking about this but it is just an illusion.
