    I have been working at BEML as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    There are areas where beginners can learn but you have to put our own efforts.

    Cons

    what puts company to ugly look is the people out there... they think they know everything. That ego complex is the black mark of the company. Of course not all but majority of people have that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There is no benefit with that.

    Pros

    A lot of Technical Knowledge gathered while working for different Mining machines across India.

    BEML,The Company has drawn up VISION – 2013 with an ambitious growth rate of 12% CAGR for crossing ` 5,000 Cr turnover by 2013-14 coinciding with BEML’s Golden Jubilee year. With this emerging prospects, BEML has plans to cross ` 5,000 Cr in the next 2 years and is poised to achieve ` 10,000 Cr mark by 2016-17 and the company is gearing up with necessary infrastructure for achieving the same.

    Very Bad Management techniques handling HR issues Transfer, compensation.

    More compensation and benefits to New Employees.

    I worked at BEML full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Has got the one of the best manufacturing infrastructure in the country
    - Opportunity to witness one of the best acquired foreign technology in automobile successfully being used even after 30 years (BEML and Komatsu were technology partners till 2002)
    - Ultimate Job security - If you dont want to work and just take home salary every month, without having the fear of getting fired, this is where you should be aiming for.
    - Very cheap food rates
    - 8 hours working (If you decide not to extend any more minute after your normal hours, no one can stop you)

    Cons

    - If you are in the category who have decided to work and serve the company, be ready be become the genie from the bottle. You will end up doing tons of things (which your seniors have purposefully left out)
    - Limited career growth
    - HR is the worst among the PSUs.
    - Limited training schedules allotted for every calendar year.
    - Very Limited freedom given to juniors to express their views in projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Build a competent HR Management, because if they recruit the right people to handle the Critical Higher Management Roles, this company can reach greater heights which the enormous infrastructure it has.

    Pros

    A fortune company in Rail & Metro Business with established infrastructure and legacy reputation. Good opportunity to learn for freshers.

    Cons

    Inefficient execution of jobs due to lack of leadership. Technology upgrades vis-a-vis counterparts and the need of the environment is poor. Its difficult to pass an opinion to the management. Employees' skill enhancement is poor even to Industry standards. Postings and reshuffling/transfers are not the basis of employee skills but on management's short term requirements. Every job here is treated as disaster!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management should nurture efficient work culture. Job rotation at working level is very much essential for building a diversified & robust pool. Training & up-gradation should be on par with Industry standards in all departments & levels. Clinging on to legacy is a foolish thing. Every jobs does not need to be treated with Disaster or crisis management.
