ProsVacation days, pretty laid back environment,401k etc. Great people, very friendly

ConsGets frustrating after a while because If you are not French, dont expect advancement. Not worth working here unless all you are looking for is a paycheck.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGood luck

    – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Sales Director

    Front Office Sales (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsGood vacation package. Good place to learn. Smart people in derivatives space.

ConsNot a great platform to work for. Very dysfunctional office. Management attitude is divide and conquer. I would recommend working for BNP Paribas but simply outside of the US. If you are not French it remains difficult to grow within the company.

Conservative bank => increased reliability, job stability but also bureaucracy, low variable pay

    Middle Office Analyst (Former Employee)

ProsGreat job stability and decent benefits.

ConsBureocracy - hard to change things, especially when Paris headquarters has to be involved in the decision making.
Low variable pay - below average bonuses, highly uncorrelated with individual performance for operation roles.
Lack of transparency - hurts morale

Advice to Senior ManagementAiming for a better work-life balance should be prioritized as employees in operational roles have limited variable pay.

Good opportunities for growth up to mid level mgmt

    Managing Director Tech (Former Employee)

Prosbroad scope of technology and mgmt. opportunities , not cutting edge but reasonable exposure.

ConsRegions are subjected to weak snr expat French managers shipped out from Paris.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop talent in the region and rather fire the French mgrs. that aren't cutting it rather than giving pseudo promotions out to the regions

    Vice president

    IT Vice President (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsThe best part from the company is there are more vacation days.

ConsIt seems no chance for non French to be promoted locally. All managers are coming either from France or from London.

Advice to Senior ManagementManager should come to the floor to visit employee to see what's going on rather than just sitting behind.
