I have been working at BNP Paribas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Vacation days, pretty laid back environment,401k etc. Great people, very friendly

    Cons

Gets frustrating after a while because If you are not French, dont expect advancement. Not worth working here unless all you are looking for is a paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good luck

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good vacation package. Good place to learn. Smart people in derivatives space.

    Cons

Not a great platform to work for. Very dysfunctional office. Management attitude is divide and conquer. I would recommend working for BNP Paribas but simply outside of the US. If you are not French it remains difficult to grow within the company.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at BNP Paribas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great job stability and decent benefits.

    Cons

Bureocracy - hard to change things, especially when Paris headquarters has to be involved in the decision making.
Low variable pay - below average bonuses, highly uncorrelated with individual performance for operation roles.
Lack of transparency - hurts morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aiming for a better work-life balance should be prioritized as employees in operational roles have limited variable pay.

I worked at BNP Paribas for more than 10 years

    Pros

broad scope of technology and mgmt. opportunities , not cutting edge but reasonable exposure.

    Cons

Regions are subjected to weak snr expat French managers shipped out from Paris.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop talent in the region and rather fire the French mgrs. that aren't cutting it rather than giving pseudo promotions out to the regions

I have been working at BNP Paribas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The best part from the company is there are more vacation days.

    Cons

It seems no chance for non French to be promoted locally. All managers are coming either from France or from London.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manager should come to the floor to visit employee to see what's going on rather than just sitting behind.

    Pros
