    Managing for Performance has taken over. Customer focus is diminishing.

    ProsLarge organisation which will never be ignored by customers due to its credibility in uk telecoms. On paper the opportunity is there to earn bonus. There is access to a wide portfolio of IT products. There data networks in my opinion are second to none and are rated highly by gartner.

    ConsJob roles are narrowly defined and many employee talents are not used. Support and knowledge of new product areas is scarce. service is suffering due to staff reductions and industry restructuring. Customers are becoming less important to the organisation. Bonuses are rarely paid.

    Advice to Senior ManagementFocus back on customer needs. Use the talents of your employees to their full potential.

    ConsLots of overhead bureaucracy and lack of common sense. How and why would you apply software development best practices and design principles to IT infrastructure designs focused on networking??? Waste of time.

    Good but all depends on how lucky you sre with the team you end up in & too political

    # find any excuse not to give you what you deserve
    # Poor moral
    # Performance management structure mean everyone is out for themselves creating a poor team environment
    # Way too many arrogant people with big egos lucky humility.
    # Same corporate spill dressed up in a new name every year.
    # Massive disconnect between managers and low level workers
    # Luck of the drew depending on team. Same level of work yields totally different rating in different teams.

    Advice to Senior ManagementList to people and change the way performance management works, every three months is overkill and hinders moral.
