I have been working at BT full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible working - potential for good work life balance, Skills development. Forefront of technology and service providing's. Exciting growth opportunities happening in the market.

    Cons

Career prospects, difficult to progress internally, salaries can be much lower than average for certain role types, don't always recognise advanced skills/qualifications. potential for bad work life balance with little reward/recognition. Poor bonus/salary increments - one hand we are being told the company is doing so well, the other hand told the company isn't and payrises / bonuses will be low as a consequence.

I have been working at BT

    Pros

It will give you a base to become an expert in all fields of ICT and telecommunications.
Being a large multinational there is potential to travel and work in different countries

    Cons

It can be buereucratic at times in that there many layers of management.
Processes do not always work as they should which is dissapointing if you have come from an organisation where this is not a problem.

I have been working at BT full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Company's senior leaders are continually driving for progress. It has global offices so there are lots of travel opportunity. Most people are very friendly and fun to work with.

    Cons

Some people have forgotten how to communicate authentically and efficiently, especially middle managers. You need to navigate well to avoid these people to have a positive experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are middle management, please refresh your thinking and approach to leading teams. If you are senior management, keep up the progress, in-sourcing, and challenging your middle managers.

I have been working at BT full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They have decent work, can be a good learning experience if you are willing to sacrifice all your time for BT and have no other work and a decent salary.

    Cons

They really wont have any work life balance , people who prefer a work life balance shouldn't join here.. You should be a show man to get into the eyes of the management and take all the credit for other work. The worst working environment i have ever worked in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to retain people for longer please start thinking about work life balance, people welfare and not only the deliverable in projects which sometime might be far too stretched for a person or even for a group.
