    Pros

They do take care of upper management

    Cons

Being a field hand, you know how expendable you are.

    Advice to Management

Treat your field hands better. Give them fair wages comparable to the area you send them to.

    Pros

Family run business where the owners have an overwhelming sense of responsibility for each employee. Compensate their employees very well relative to their true contributions and/ or market value.

    Cons

From an organizational standpoint there is a complete lack of leadership at all levels. While the owners care about their employees, they are unable to figure out how to transition the company from a family run business to a professional organization. New ideas are welcome so long as you leave them at the door when you arrive. They talk about vision and strategy but do not know how to define or implement either. These factors, along with many others, mean baker is a place to get a job but not a place where you can build a career.

    Pros

If you are part of the upper management team, they will treat you good. Good enough that they don't make waves to fight for the field hands.

    Cons

They hire in states with some of the lowest costs of living (i.e. Houston), and send them to work on a state with one of the highest (i.e. Stamford, Ct). Their per diem package barely covers half the hotel bill, if you get into the one that gives the company a discount, otherwise a quarter of the bill. They don't compensate you for the cost of living increase at all. The ave. carpenter there is making 14 hr. and the prevailing wage in Ct is 28 to 38 hr.

    Advice to Management

You have a dozen field hand (plus or minus) cycling in and out of that job on a weekly basis. They can't afford to work there and the management team there doesn't care. Ask yourselves why?
