    Pros

You will see how style is trending and everyone will help each other for store to achieve successful day. If you show your are worthy for store, you will get hours you desire (unless store is very slow or too many people working)

    Cons

Since brand is in style, it might get busy. Employee discounts can be slightly better.

I have been working at Banana Republic full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Banana Republic offers top notch training and developing. All associates are taught business acumen involving metrics and customer engagement. It's a fun place to work and everyone works well together to meet a common goal.

    Cons

Promotions are given based on personalities not so much about accomplishments. You have to be willing to boast about your accomplishments to everyone in your district in order to be acknowledged. Supervisors are often over looked and even left out of the training and development aspect of the business. They are expected to do the bulk of the work with little recognition. Most of the recognition goes to the GM's.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a better training and development program for mid management/supervisors. Ensure proper tracking of coaching and development of supervisors. Growth should be consistent and seamless without bias. Because small box retail is such an isolated environment there should also be an accountability piece that the GM's as well as the DM's have to the supervisors. This will allow for full circle accountability and thus reduce some of the bias/favoritism that exist within the retail culture.

I have been working at Banana Republic part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

One of the best reasons to work here as a sales associate, would be the discount that employees receive at Banana Republic, Old Navy and the GAP. They also have a great selection of quality clothing.

    Cons

Some of the challenges working at Banana Republic, as with any retail store, are dealing with some unruly and rude customers, which doesn't happen all the time. That and the specific way to fold certain clothes can get annoying.
