    Pros

I love the atmosphere of the store. The clothes are beautiful and make you proud to show customers. The managers are great at giving advice about how to work with customers, and provide you advice to take on to future jobs knowing that most of their employees aren't planning to work there forever.

    Cons

I do not like or feel comfortable having to sell banana cards. It gets easier to just ask people, but I think it's ridiculous that it's basically mandatory. You won't get fired if you don't sell any, but it won't be looked at favourably if you don't either. I think good service should be valued over harassing people to get credit cards.
Jobs like this are always hard too since you usually need to work holidays.

    Advice to Management

Maybe rethink how you approach cards.

    Pros

Decent employee discount program, flexible hours, and general stress free environment. Company stresses great customer experience and atmosphere, instead of aggressive selling techniques and methods.

    Cons

Low sales equals less hours, strange "on call" shifts are very rarely used and require employee to check in at store 2 hours prior to shift to find out if they will be utilized or not. Training has sporadic, and uneven. High turnover rate for associates, and no strong management training programs for associates interested in moving up in the company.

    Advice to Management

Organization and communication to all associates seems to be the area that could use some improvement.

They have 4 sister companies under the gap umbrella that gives you a great opportunity to relocate almost anywhere if needed.

    Cons

Not a lot of overnight positions.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Everyone is always working hard to help you with anything. Not a strict dress code and the 50% off at Banana and Gap is completely worth it.

    Cons

    Inconsistent hours and low pay

    Pros

    -Great discount and pay policies
-Generally have a flexible schedule (depends on the time of the year)
-Ability to change locations easily (I have worked at 5 different stores, basically my job has followed me around the country, which is great!)

    Cons

-Some managers aren't very good at their jobs, but they still keep them
-Managers may expect a lot from brand ambassadors but contribute very little themselves
-Policies can be inefficient and bureaucratic

    Advice to Management

Actually take part in the sales process, be on the floor with your employees. If there is a certain goal you want employees to meet, take part in achieving that goal rather than just giving it like an assignment. Be continuous about praising your employees when they do well.

    Pros

At factory store 30% off all sales except clearance. 10% off of clearance.

    Cons

none really. It's just not really fun trying to convince people to get credit cards, but you just simply ask if they want one and if they say yes open up a credit card for them if they say no just move on.
