Former Employee – worked at Bank of America part-time for less than a year
Pros – Very easy phone and face to face interview and very quick. Job was easy.
Cons – Training was terrible and professionalism at the branch non existent. They need to work on their safety practices i.e bulk cash was being handed over teller counter to the dispatch guys when customers were in the branch. The manager was never at work and if he was he kept to himself and did not monitor his staff or encourage his staff. Behind the teller counter was very disorganised and dirty, bad attitudes of all female staff.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire new staff, Clothing choice of most female staff needs addressing, branch needs to be tidied up, training needs to improve ten fold, be there for your staff, more excitement in the branch!

Current Employee – been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Good health and dental benefits.
Cons – Difficult to move up. Leadership really has no clue how to run their departments. They lie about many things. One being the predictable pay. That screwed over a lot of employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop lying to your employees. They know what smoke screens are.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Flex scheduling, casual dress code, opportunity to learn the business of banking
Cons – Management once they pin point you as trouble you are harassed and talked down to.
Advice to Senior Management – Upper management needs conduct focus groups to see what the problems are that are bringing down scores in categories such as "do you feel that you can open with your manager without fear of negative consequences." Allowing direct reports to conduct these meetings is a joke and not getting to the root of the issue. They simply take your opinions and use them as a means to harass you until you're on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Former Employee – worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Great salary for those who are willing to cut the crap and get to work. Banking is a very easy environment to relax and coast under the radar of management. However, if you truly apply yourself and dominate without blatantly compromising your ethics, advancement is endless.
Cons – Management is a joke. The company direction:
Serve the customer, put their needs first and offer only what is "valuable" to the client.
Underline objective: Sell more than 5 products to each customer, or else YOU are a garbage seller and we will replace you with someone who can slam 5 or more products per client.
*Regardless of what they actually need, your bonus is structured on "quantity" not "quality"
Advice to Senior Management – Drop the "Customer Focus" and tell your employees what you really want. -more sales units.
That, or change your objective and offer incentive based on true quality, not quantity.
Not everyone needs 5 savings accounts, 3-5 checking accounts and 2-4 credit cards.

Former Employee – worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – it is a job . IT IS just a paycheck to paycheck place
Cons – If you dont know any one in upper management and kiss there pockets , or sleep with them you will never get promoted .
If you are GREAT at what you do they will try to get rid of you since you making everybody look bad .
Advice to Senior Management – go to your banking centers and see the low level manager how they treat the employees .

Former Employee – worked at Bank of America full-time for more than a year
Pros – Excellent benefits, great banking center hours, good resources.
Cons – Most unprofessional bank. Management was not informative. On my second day, i had to ask an associate what the morning signal was. You'd think thats the first thing they tell you on your first day of work. Due to budget cuts, all training was done online. I spent 5 days reading policies and procedures on the internal website. On my 5th day, I was already told to open new accounts. I did not get to shadow anyone at all. I previously worked at other financial institutions and i have never experience such terrible training before.
Advice to Senior Management – Great people, but lack of professionalism. If you want your employees to stay, then guide and support them.

Former Employee – worked at Bank of America full-time
Pros – Great pay
Great health benefits, sick time, and vacation time
Cons – Training is horrible. They claim they want to start you out slow but they end up dumping loans on you. Work...work...work...work. That's all they want you to do. Forget about using the health insurance you pay each pay period. You will be forced to work when you are sick. There systems you work with everyday are horrible either too slow or too many issues. You spend more time on the phone with technical support for the systems you use rather than the files you are processing.
Too much documentation expires...your constantly bugging the customers for them to provide more information. They claim they want to be customer service focused but the conditions they require from the customers are ridiculous. Customers constantly complain why it is taking so long. To even get a loan to closing is a impossible with all the things you have to do leading up to final approval. Too many birthdays to celebrate...every week somebody was asking for money here and there to purchase a birthday cake or for other parties.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop the favoritism...I saw how one person on my team closed so many loans but it was only because they were giving this person easy ones to close while everyone else got the more complex loans.

Current Employee – been working at Bank of America for more than a year
Pros – Benefits and perks are amazing.
Cons – Ask way too much of their tellers, we are now expected to get at least 5 referrals a day sometimes more if its busier, constantly on your back about meeting goals, even if they see improvement. Only way to move up is to be an SSS which positions are never posted and when they are they are highly competitive. Always on you about dress code. Recently it has been- no radio at work, no lollipops visible, can not touch deposit slips customers must do it all on their own. Say welcome to bank of america to every customer even if they have been waiting in line for hours. Can't wait on customers if you are not scheduled to, even if there is a massive line.
Advice to Senior Management – Reduce the referral goal, its hurting even the smartest tellers.
