Work hard, get paid decently, but always remember you're just a number..........

Process Design Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

ProsDecent pay, friendly teammates, good work-from-home opportunities

ConsThe constant fear of being severed (shhh, did I say that?). Severances happen almost every quarter and to get the severance you are required to sign a non-disclosure.... so it almost never appears in the media. Entire groups get wiped out, so even w/ consistently high performance appraisals you can be cut. It was the number one thing people talked about.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to roots and demonstrate to the people you actually care. Because we all believe you don't.

ProsYou can work in the beautiful headquarters.

ConsThe pay sucks, and the people are boring and unsociable.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the young employees for once in your life. They have good ideas too. Bring in young talent and keep them or they are just going to get their 5 years of experience and take their skills to another company.

HSS II - Mortgage Processor

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Bank of America full-time

ProsI learned on my own another skill i can add to my resume.

ConsSenior manage is so out of touch w/ the role and what all is involved. Goals are barely attainable as the workload is heavy.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet in touch with your employees and be an employee centric company - If your employees come first then everything else will fall into place.

I would rather work for minimum wage than have to work for this company again.

Teller (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

ProsMy coworkers--at any location I was placed.

ConsAnything you hear about banks is true. At one point, my own manager asked me to lie to potential clients (by telling them there was something going on with a check, for instance, they were trying to cash) in order to attempt and get accounts opened. They are disgraceful and find their employees disposable no matter how great your performance is.
