Mortgage Loan Officer Senior Loan Closer (Former Employee) Maitland, FL

ProsLots of overtime and bonus opportunities.

ConsIneffective training, poor leadership, and overall distrust of management and the bank as a whole.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe reputation you have is the reputation you've earned, the overall concern for profit above all else, ethical or not, legal or not, is rather disgusting.

Work for BOA for many years

Teller, Personal Banker, Sss Assistant Manager (Former Employee) Naples, FL

ProsThe bank has a lot of benefits, They help my son with a schoolarship in order to go to university of Florida. Also they help you out with schoolarship for employees if you would like to keep going to school. Other benefits are Medical, Dental, vision 401k etc. etc.

ConsI work for this bank for many years, I hold different possitions with them I was a teller, Personal Banker, Assistant manager Sales and Service Specialist. when I was producing everybody was happy with me they wanted to clone me to get more of me hahahaha. They use you while they can and they bye bye..I was very good in customer service and sales. In the begining I really enjoyed my job because it was not that demanding, I treated my customers really well because it wasn't the preasure for goals..After a few years everything became a nightmare micromanaging us it was horrible. Now it is impossible to work for them, I got sick just thinking about how can I make my goals, I did not sleep I could think anymore. I was moved to three branches before they let me go. Bank of America was not fair with me. After 20+ years one day after I was writing up for everything small things they told me I could not work for that bank anymore. I think at this time BOA only think about $$$$$$ customer are a number and the employees also a #### numbers. I will only recommend to work there people that really can handle high preasure and please see a doctor before you start and you ll see how your results are after a year of woriking for them...Sorry BOA you are so big that you don't care about anything just to make money.

Advice to Senior ManagementCEO more consideration for the employees please..

    Bastion of Bureaucratic Incompetence

Relationship Manager (Current Employee) Tampa, FL

ProsBenefits, benefits, benefits. Multiple weeks of vacation, generous 401(k), tuition reimbursement, child care reimbursement. The benefits package is truly superior to most companies.

ConsThe Peter Principle abounds. Employees are discouraged from being innovative or thinking outside the box. Talent is not rewarded and pay is not commensurate with job performance expectations.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecruit, hire, train, and retain quality employees and then trust them to do the job you've given them. The bureaucratic overlays and abysmal compensation are choking production and running off the employees who will bring the Bank to its highest level of efficiency. Stop hiring imbeciles (and then promoting them) just because you can get them on the cheap. Their results are on par with the pay. If the right associates were recruited and retained, it would mitigate future reputational and financial challenges.

    Corporation from Hell

Loan Processor (Former Employee) Tampa, FL

ProsMoney and Benefits. Also, BOA is incredibly generous with providing a total of 6 bottom-of-the line fridgerators to hold lunches for over 3,000 employees. You win the lottery if you can find your lunch.

ConsThe training that you get at BOA has nothing to do with your job. You spend 50% of your time learning how to work with BOA's extremely outdated systems. You don't get training on the actual outdated system either. Instead you rely on other seasoned co-workers to train you. No one trained them, so they have no interest in training you. Also, you compete with your co-workers for large bonuses, so they definitely don't want to help you. Loan Processors have 3 times more customers than they should have and spend most of their time apologizing to angry customers instead of actually processing the paperwork that was submitted. Didn't answer my phone for 1 whole day so I could catch up on processing paperwork. Over 45 voice mails.....and they wonder why their employees are stressed out and turn-over is high.

Last, but certainly not least, Policies and Procedures change daily. Changes in procedure are not provided to employees in writing. Instead, they are announced verbally and briefly during the "cult huddles".

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the cult worship crap. Twice a week, wasting 30 minutes in a cult "huddle" clapping for your co-workers and giving phony, non work-related awards does not promote teamwork. Instead, it makes every participant want to hurl while stabbing his or her eyes out with a fork. Also, since the Tampa location is similiar to foreign sweat-shop, thousands of employees are all on top of each other with no walls or any type of privacy. Due to this lack of privacy and multiple groups having 30 minute loud huddles at different times on different days, it is very distracting to do your work while people are constantly cheering and clapping around you cause Little Debbie wore Bank of America colors.
