    Bank of America..working there

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBank of America is good place to work, if you are ready to work for below industries standard pay.. Getting re hired is not easy .

ConsThe benefits are not very good.. Insurance is expensive compared some other companies.. Be ready for riffs every couple of months.. The organization changes are there every 2 or 3 months. Don't Expect Performance bonus even if you exceeded everyone.. should be less than <5%.

    Lack of Direction

Branch Manager (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsHours, work-life balance, compensation is in line or above peer group. Quarterly bonus opportunity drives employee satisfaction.

ConsOutdated processes, lack of clear direction, disconnect between upper management and employees. Direction of driving customer experience is unclear.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet involved with employees on a local level. Email doesn't help. In order to drive sales and customer experience results, simplify your retail process. Give flexibility to managers to drive business without out-of-touch micro management techniques

    Challenging and rewarding constantly improving.

Operations Project Consultant Assistant Vice President (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsFlexible work locations, very comprehensive benefits (although you have to find out about many if them on your own), diverse people and ideas at every level.

ConsToo many divisions without communication between lines of business or departments.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on collaboration and knowledge sharing. It will increase efficiency, expertise and morale.

    Interesting

Customer Relationship Manager (Current Employee) Charlotte, NC

ProsGreat salary. Good morale. Nice people. Constantly updated on changes in the company.

ConsConstant layoffs and negative press. Training is terrible. Communication is horrible with management.

Advice to Senior ManagementCare about your people and promote a better work-life balance . Make your employees feel valued.

    Kinda Frustrating

Home Services Specialist II (Former Employee) Beachwood, OH

ProsWorked with good people. There were opportunities for lateral movement and some opportunities for upward movement. In the beginning there was lots of overtime and flexible scheduling.

ConsWell the site closed so that was definitely a con. Things changed quite often and we were not normally given any rhyme or reason for the changes. It didn't appear as though the people making the decisions at the time had much knowledge of the positions. When I worked as a home service specialist (mortgage loan processor) the work load was ridiculous. There simply were not enough people staffed to do everything that needed to be done and towards the end overtime was taken away.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would suggest being more transparent with your communications and reasoning for making changes that need to be made.

    Good Company

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosgreat benefits and multiple locations throughout the country

ConsMany customer service based departments are integrating to the "one stop shop" servicing so you may be required to take several different types of calls in a day regarding mortgages, bank accounts, credit calls and investments.

Advice to Senior ManagementDepending on what department you work in plays a huge factor on the environment and work-life balance.

Not the best toward to end of my career, culture change for older workers.

Business Support Lead II (Former Employee) Charlotte, NC

ProsSalary was good for this area.

ConsPersonal growth if someone liked you was good, if not, no growth or development opportunities.

Advice to Senior ManagementOlder workers are talented and loyal.

    Good Company to work for!!!!

    Officer (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

    ProsDiscounts, steady employment, challenging work

ConsSome departments treat you like a child, others devalue their employees

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow more self-managed positions and remove some of the managers who do not actual involve themselves in all aspects of their department. They add no value to the department and usually are reason certain departments are having a difficult time.

    personal banker

    Personal Banker (Current Employee)

Pros3 weeks time off on the first day.
    Great medical benefits and retirement.

ConsMy branch was under staffed. 1 or 2 tellers a day. Had difficulties convincing existing customers from leaving. Hard time to acquire new customers because how under staff it was.
