    I worked at Barclays Capital

    Pros

Flexible and decent paying back office consultant positions, I found the employees there to be very friendly and helpful to inexperienced hires.

    Cons

Hours can be long but this should be expected in finance, technology was antiquated, and red tape abounds.

I worked at Barclays Capital full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I had a great experience for the three years I was there, I had a great support system but ultimately felt that I grew out of my role and needed to experience something else

    Cons

Company is going through a tough transition and talent continues to leave the firm for other opportunities; ultimately I chose to do the same

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train and support the junior team; ultimately mid-level and senior executives did not provide much growth opportunity and people have looked to go elsewhere

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Barclays Capital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly team, good to learn things on investment, if you start from different background like IT. Plenty of space to grow within the department.

    Cons

As the culture of big firms, you are boxed in, ie. switch from IT analytics role to quant or trading is next to never.
