    Pros

Barclay's had an amazing training program and helped me to develop.

    Cons

    Transparency was not the greatest.

    Advice to Management

Allow for more open communications. The company represents itself as a meritocracy but does not fulfill on that promise.

    Pros

The people were well educated, devoted, driven and most of all helpful. They never looked down on anyone and always were willing to make time for you.

    Cons

It was going through a transition period and was a bit of a mess internally. Although this is now fixed so it is no longer a con anymore.

    Pros

The corporate culture is very oriented to work life balance and they hire for fit as well as aptitude. Infastructure in place for learning and developing broad skill sets

    Cons

Compensation isn't competitive with some of the buldge brackets on the street.

    Advice to Management

We need to be on par with the street in terms of salary and bonus and make sure that we implement changes quickly as it causes loss of talent through retention and recruiting.

    Pros

Really care about the people that work here. Analysts get meaningful responsibility and get put on major deals the moment they walk in. They will work you, but you'll get a good experience.

    Cons

The hours are fairly long for an investment banking analyst. This is pretty standard in the industry and remains the key issue as there's no way around that.

    Advice to Management

Should be more cognizant of analysts' times. The benefits and perks are decent to an extent but there needs to be more focus on streamlining work.

    Pros

-the Latin American M&A team is a highly regarded team within the firm -lots of deal flow and significant fees, given headcount -strong culture with great leadership -strong platform across regions (specifically within Brazil and Mexico)

    Cons

-sometime can be worked too much -expectation to work at least 100 hour weeks, regardless of deal flow

    Advice to Management

-senior analysts and associates shouldn't force juniors to stay late if there is less deal flow or if they're crushing work (can recall associates staying late for no real reason, just to make sure others were in the office later)

    Pros

Great experience. Comp is good, people are friendly and driven, and tons of interesting problems to work on.

    Cons

Lower in terms of prestige versus some of the other major banks. Lots of groups are pretty understaffed

    Advice to Management

Work on developing teams and the BarCap brand.

    Advice to Management

Would probably shorten the hours...at least cut out a lot of the useless things

    Pros

Strong people, tend to be knowledgeable regarding their area of expertise. Compensation tends to be favorable.

    Cons

Can be very bureaucratic as this is a large company with many decisions being made overseas.
