    Pros

Good colleagues generally, opportunities for development, like the dress down business casual all week.

    Cons

If you don't belong to a 'clique' (i.e. clique of people who have spent up to 4 decades), you can hardly get anywhere in the organization, too much office politics.

    Advice to Management

Top management to improve on current process to allow new intakes feel more welcomed.

    Pros

Did not want to work in "big" business - thought i preferred smaller where you could have more impact. Wrong. Barclays was a fab four years for me. Loved the people, loved the ability to input and impact on the business

    Cons

Cant think of one. Great location for me anyway. Good money and benefits.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing the same thing.

    Pros

Supportive culture in some departments, flexible to work life balance, some good benefits.

    Cons

Lack of transparency at pay round, reviews etc. Some individuals still play the old political game.

    Advice to Management

Pay fairly and keep conversations open for reviews, will retain more staff. Try to align teams to push for overall good of business units rather than individual performance.

    Pros

Such a large company has a huge amount of opportunity for personal growth and room to move around laterally. There is also room to move internationally which i would recommend to anyone.

    Cons

Progress can only be achieved by hard work and the culture can be aggressive as a consequence. Room to move upwards can be blocked lack of vacant roles to move into.

    Pros

Great team oriented environment. people are dedicated and willing to help each other and elevate the team. In my role, there were different challenges on a daily basis which motivates the employees and never lets you feel bored with a routine-based framework.

    Cons

Sometimes bureaucracy is overwhelmig and therefore a very simple issue may take quite some tim eto be resolved.

    Pros

Inclusive atmosphere, nice people, challenging tasks.

    Cons

Managing upwards, political, current "transitory period" introduces noise in terms of direction.

    Advice to Management

More focus of scarce resources on important value-adding tasks - it will make people feel they are actually contributing and the efficiency will be increased.
