If you like the cutthroat culture of Wall Street investment banking, this company is for you.

    Pros

Average compensation levels and benefits package

    Cons

Severely under capitalized. Intensely micromanaged. Inner circle of top management rules with iron fist approach, but unfortunately have little to no experience or understanding of front-line development, construction, marketing or sales matters. As such there is no capacity for local/regional variations in market dynamics nor ability to recognize the interplay of science and art of business decisions inherent in development. Employee opinions and ideas are viewed with distrust and hostility creating an atmosphere where loyalty and commitment do not grow and flourish.

Severe absence of diversity in gender, experience, background and critical thinking. Little opportunity for advancement for other than for finance/accounting/auditing backgrounds. Feels more like a bank than a home building company.

Accountability and team work is in short supply. Having someone to blame if later the CEO or CFO disapprove seems to be a primary objective of middle management - more than 18 of which report directly to CEO amazingly.

60-70 hour weeks are the norm. Don't expect superiors to be knowledgeable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's been 3+ years since the former management team (included current CEO) allegedly drove the company into the ground. It is long past time to start building a culture of respect toward employees that engender loyalty and commitment to excellence that builds long-term value. Disciplined management is not the same as management that eats its own.

    Pros

My paycheck cleared the bank. IT Professionals (non-management) empathetic and knowledgeable.

    Cons

Miro-management, environment is collapsed and hostile. There is no team collaboration, treated like children and thrown under the bus by the IT managers. Totally mis-treated by the managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Throw out the existing IT management team!
