    Good experience, wide ooportunities

Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) Frederick, MD

ProsLarge Organization, well known company. Company will work hard to keep employees even when work is slow

ConsNeed geographical flexibility. Management is not open to switching to different Business Unit within the company. Noticeable different in the age demographic. Will get lost in the crowd.

    Too top heavy

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Frederick, MD

ProsGreat salary, time-off policies, convenient location, opportunity to travel.

ConsToo much bureaucracy, office politics, poor morale. They have too many managers that somehow climbed the ladder many years ago but are horrendous at managing people. Tis the age of the MBA, not the experienced, proven worker.

Advice to Senior ManagementFoster an environment where your lower level employees feel valued and have the ability to grow within the company.

Not a great experience out of college.

Structural Engineer I (Former Employee) Homestead, FL

ProsThe projects are in the Nuclear industry which is unlike anything else. I got to experience and be a part of something that few get to do. You meet a lot of interesting people with different backgrounds.

ConsHorrible work-life balance, the culture there is to not take any time off and you are negatively judged if you do. The work itself is very monotone and boring. They don't encourage the employees to learn new and different things.

A pretty good place to work.

Senior Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsThis company pays well and has well-established procedures in place.

ConsIf you don't make yourself known to your department manager, he doesn't know you.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou're moving in the right direction with these "forthright conversations" training for supervisors.

    Interesting jobs, but bureaucratic

Project Controls Engineer (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsThese are the biggest and best engineering and construction projects in the world.

There is a serious interest from Project Management for the work done by Project Controls.

ConsToo many times you identify something dumb that we do, you take it up the chain, get agreement that it's dumb, but then are told, "It's just the way we do it here".

There is always talk of how we want to be more nimble, flexible, but never any real discussion of how a large company is going to do that.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
