    I worked at Bell Canada

    Pros

Great benefits and competitive market salary. Good company if you want a long-term career and retirement benefits. You can get in with just a high school diploma but be prepared to go back to school to get a degree if you want to move up.

Started as a customer service rep with odd shifts(weekends, evenings, etc). The call centre is very high volume and busy all the time so your shifts go by quickly.

They offered me a very flexible schedule when I decided to go back to school and finish my Bachelor's degree. Applied for was offered a better position once I completed my degree.

If you have a good manager, you will be recognized for your hard work. However, some colleagues in other departments have the opposite experience with their managers.

    Cons

Like any large corporation, be prepared to be unhappy about certain decisions. Major decisions at these companies take time and as a low level employee you are kept out of the loop until they make an announcement.

Some departments operate on a 'promote your buddies' system. This is why you'll see a lot of people from the same nationality working in management for certain departments. If you're not willing to suck up and talk cars, money and sports, then you will have more difficulty being recognized. Sad but true in most companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep low-level employees in the loop and gather feedback from your employees.
