    Pros

    Company is overall great to work for. Competitive pay and excellent benefits. Have never really felt like it is a dog eat dog kind of environment. Managers and interdepartmental and facility colleagues are supportive and helpful. You feel like you're part of a team.

    Cons

    Can be stressful at times when dealing with difficult customers. Company can feel a little too big from time to time which can make interaction with colleagues outside of your department or direct facility impersonal.

    Pros

    Challenging work for the self-motivated. Company has grown significantly and has tried to keep the small company feel.

    Cons

    Stress of becoming a big company is evident in the working environment. Not always consistent direction from group leaders in job duties.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There appears some disconnects in mid management levels in taking corporate strategic directions and implementing the logistics at lower levels of the organization.

    - lots of interaction among individuals in departments
    - great work life balance

    - gossip among employees
    - manager can micromanage from time to time
    - work is a little slow

    Pros

    very good pay for the area benefits are good , also good advancement opportunity just have to work hard and be a productive team member. Management at bemis promotes and fosters Safety programs the company truly put safety first. Good training for employee application also cogitative training, its like everything else in this country you have to work for it.

    Cons

    They live up to contract we made, they gave me a job benefits and pay and i agreed to work for it, that's all they expect.
    Safety protects people and Quality protects jobs you create your own job security!!!

    Pros

    Good benefits
    Executive management
    Good coworkers
    Safety conscious
    Reasonable work life balance
    Plants are very well run

    Cons

    Some middle managers are very poor leaders and micromanagers
    Pay significantly lacking, greatly trails the market for similar experience and duties
    Not promoting from within. When employees aren't promoted, doesn't that reflect poorly on middle management?
    Regular layoffs and plant closings create an environment of always watching your back

    Look at the areas with high turnover, are all of those employees bad or dissatisfied for the same reason?

    Pros

    I love most aspects of the job at Bemis even during the tough economic times, they stayed positive.

    Cons

    Salaries are lower that what can be achieved at similar positions elsewhere in the area. It is much more difficult to advance in the manufacturing side of the business, than on the corporate side.

    Seems like the people with the most seniority were treated the worst.

    Pros

    There have been a lot of changes at Bemis and many consider change as a negative. However, they seem to be improving efficiencies and making choices to be more competitive. If keeping the company competitive and profitable means we all keep our jobs, I'm all for it.

    There is opportunity to get good experience in several areas to advance career.

    Cons

    Employees get training and experience, but the pay does not always reflect experience. Employees who are with the company for a long time tend to get penalized on pay in comparison to employees hired externally.

    Communication continues to be a concern. Management and Neenah Corporate tend to keep secrets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reward your loyal employees with compensation, don't penalize them.

    Transparency can be a good thing! Not everything is confidential.

    Management is all about the all mighty dollar and does not care about its employees

    Bring back our incentives and everything else you took away from us after the strike!

    Pros

    Pay is decent. Hours are available for a regular paycheck.

    Cons

    management is not very informed, doesn't know what is going on as far as the job goes. Management plays favorites and there is no one to voice concerns to who will actually listen. As far as promotions, they will hire outside of the department and even out of the company and train that individual instead of hiring a honest, hard working employee who has been doing the job for 7 years. Wish there was upper management who cared enough to know what is going on and know that logistic wise, they are losing a ton of money. Money is being wasted on new signage and new parking lots for corporate but cant make the lots bigger for the semis for business purposes. Many semis lined up down the road because there is not enough room to enter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get management out of the company who do not know what they are doing. Make sure if they are managing a team, they know how to operate the machinery themselves. There is so much going wrong on the inside and there is no way for employees to be heard other than dealing with a manger who doesn't know whats going on or going to HR who has no idea how operations work on the inside either. Is there a CEO who cares to know. Would be willing to discuss!
