    Cons

The Salary benefits should increase as because mobile department don't get any commission like other dealer companies or carriers..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to focus on e-learning before launching any new services. It will definitely help the associate to present it to the customer

Former Employee - Home Solutions Specialist in London, ON (Canada)

I worked at Best Buy Canada part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Better than minimum wage pay with benefits you can buy into.
Lots of online training for product knowledge and information about the company and SOP.
At least 2 weeks advanced schedule.

    Cons

No way to check your work schedule online.
Everything connected to the internet must be accessed through proxy to HQ in BC so internet can be very slow. Further, the computers the employee's use for checking on inventory, ePOS (point of sales), etc. is heavily outdated and needs major upgrades.
Product is relocated/reorganized so frequently and has multiple locations it is almost impossible to know exactly where they are.

    Pros

Great opportunity to grow your career and gain amazing experience in a variety of areas. A strong management team that really tries to make sure every employee is positioned for success. The people really care about the company and they are very results oriented, it was great working with like minded individuals, it really fostered a strong sense of belonging and teamwork.

    Cons

Leadership can become too involved with micro management which can interfere with your ability to execute your job properly.

    Pros

Minimum of three days availability, above average pay, employee discounts at both Futureshop and Bestbuy

    Cons

Hours may not be that great for people who are looking for 'fulltime' work but you could easily work 40+ hours when it approaches the x-mas/holiday shopping season

I worked at Best Buy Canada full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pretty relaxed when it is not busy. Management offers incredible hours for strong performers and they often have contests to who can sell the most services.

    Cons

If you think it's "No Commission, No Pressure", you're wrong. They monitor your numbers and sales managers will pressure you to do well. In the end, it's sales and you must be comfortable with selling and doing well.

I have been working at Best Buy Canada full-time

    Pros

The company understands that happy employees are productive employees, and goes to great lengths to boost morale and provide perks. They're not the greatest perks in the world, but they're way better than the ones I've seen at other companies. Most of the people are great and there are lots of opportunities to have fun.

    Cons

The job responsibilities I've experienced have been high-pressure, at times unreasonably so. Some of the senior management focus more on end results and not the most logical or practical ways of achieving those results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Squeezing your employees harder isn't necessarily the best way to improve the company's numbers.
