    Pros

Got to learn a lot about cell phone carriers and plans, while learning about tablets, mp3's, and fit bands. Best Buy also sends all new hires to sales training that is really helpful once you start working. Great communication with managers and team members. Great place to work and have fun too.

    Cons

Holiday hours are not the best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue the flow of over communicating and things will continue to work great!

I worked at Best Buy full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are a lot of young, energetic, like minded people who work for the conpany. It is like an extended family and very easy to find friends.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive. Managment displays favoritism, hypocrisy, and lack of concern for the employees personal scehdule whether in college or elsewhere. Loud extroverts are favored over knowledgeable introverts. At the store I worked for in particular one woman slept her way into management and hr turned a blind eye.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink some of the culture within mangment. Happy employees perform better.

I have been working at Best Buy full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked as an AM for Best Buy for 8 years. The environment is fun, challenging and rewarding. The benefits and discounts are top notch. You meet a lot of great people and business partners. Flexible with schedule....for retail. Working the holidays is fun and fast paced if you like being kept on your toes.

    Cons

In an effort to compete with amazon, walmart, target....the company has made many budget cuts, especially in staffing. They have reduced management in stores and full time headcounts. It became very difficult to manage your work/life balance and also have the tools to be successful when working with a diminished workforce. They also pay part time very poorly and it's hard to find dedicated, quality professionals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

position yourself to better drive market share instead of cutting cutting cutting to stay afloat
