I worked at Better World Books (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There are lots of books.

    Cons

They only give you 60 days to get up to speed.

    Advice to Management

They should give at the very least 90 days to get up to speed.

  2. Helpful (1)

Tremendous growth company with great opportunity despite hit-or-miss leadership.

I have been working at Better World Books full-time

    Pros

Tremendous opportunity to learn if you play the politics well.

    Cons

Leadership is top down. The most common response to the question "Why?" is "(Executive) says so." Some of the leadership is excellent, others are in over their heads.

    Advice to Management

Take seriously the commitments you make to the staff. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
