    Pros

    Pay is pretty good. That's about it.

    Cons

    Not enough hours or willingness to give to adequately help customers.
    Inability to make decisions which would directly help your specific store. Store open hours verging on too much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Although top is bottom on the pyramid, it really hasn't changed. Corporate needs to be directly involved with a variety of stores and not a single type, customers are different in some areas.

    Bosses are lenient (in a good, assertive way)
    Hours to accommodate school or other needs
    Will get days off if requested two weeks in advance
    Easy to move up if you work hard

    Cons

    Some of the bosses are crazy
    Leadership sometimes inconsistent between bosses
    Different methods of counting balance at the end of the day between bosses

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make sure everything is streamlined and regulated between upper level management. Overall, one of the best places to work because of the accommodations and ability to get days off.

    Pros

    Biglots takes care of employees by maintaining open lines of communication and being very pro employee from the CEO down. With focus on what customers want the company will continue to evolve.

    Cons

    Very few promotion opportunities. The pay while fair is on the lower end. Incorporation of the most efficient equipment and systems is slow and cumbersome.

    Keep the ball rolling in the right direction to increase performance and sales.

    Loved the company, grew with it from recovery to assistant... Learned lots of good tools to succeed later on!

    payroll a bit tight but overall a good company
