I have been working at BlackBerry full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary but even this doesn't cover the amount of mental abuse dished out by management
You can keep your own working hours as management doesn't care

    Cons

    Silo mentality
Behind the device development curve of competitors
Undermining constantly of employees and performace
No interest in employee well being
Old guard still in place there are some very decisive characters internally who need to be replaced
Many HQ based employees have little or no international exposure
    Lofty and deluded management expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to employees
Get rid of the old guard
    Devel products consumers want

    Pros

Good salary if you are not supposed to commute as I did for a while

    Cons

You are to watch your back and play it smart moreover if you are part of a male group as they'll do what it takes to push you out. Stabbing is an art in this company

    Toxic environment

I have been working at BlackBerry

    Pros

Very competitive salaries, reasonable benefits, good first tier management, company asks for feedback frequently, pretty good vacation allowance, get a free phone.

    Cons

Toxic environment, middle and senior management don't want input from employees, rampant favoritism, terrible moral and no one in management has any desire to make things better, indecisive policy creation that changes nearly every day, poor documentation, people with skills are actively discouraged to use them, no training allowances, senior management is only focused on pointing fingers and not solving issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't ignore your employees, allow for feedback on process regardless if it's positive or negative. Focus on actually encouraging people with skills to improve themselves rather than try to actively push them out the door. Fix the moral issues immediately, you're losing good talent because people are sick of the constant bickering.

I have been working at BlackBerry full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good benefit
    A lot of resources(technologies) you can use/learn

    Cons

    Extreme bad company culture
    Managers are non-professional
    No vision
    Rude people/manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As a wireless company, please hire more wireless professional instead of non-qualified people. Think big instead of bold. Be bold will only bring you to dead if you don't have a strategy.

I worked at BlackBerry full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The group that I worked with got along really well and worked cohesively as a team very well. The work was interesting and challenging.

    Cons

The company has had some disastrous quarterly financial results over the past few years. They are still in the midst of reducing headcount by 40%. The place is just too unstable to seriously consider working there.

    Pros

Lots of smart people. Lots of motivated people. Lots of loyal people.

Same old group of boys club that runs the company, with little real world experience and tunnel vision that is running company into the ground.
