    Pros

Decent pay, nice work environment, lots of opportunities to move within the company, easy to get your foot in the door initially.

    Cons

Outdated software, I worked there for seven years and kept hearing about new versions of flagship products that never saw the light of day. It made my job a lot harder having to work with software from 1996.

    Advice to Management

Try to work harder to keep promises and realize that you pretty much have the market cornered, but that does not mean that you can rest on the laurels of old, outdated technology.

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, great people, challenging but not overly stressful. A great place to work, definitely leave with a sense of accomplishment everyday. Let me pick the projects and work I want to do instead of forcing me to do the things no one else wants.

    Cons

Some things seem a little disorganized at times, but since this is my first real experience in the industry, it's hard to say if it really is all that disorganized or not.

    Advice to Management

I think pay could be a little bit more competitive, but other than that management does a great job at Blackbaud.

    Pros

Leadership and products are moving in the right direction. 100% approve of CEO and his authenticity. I feel that people that work there really are passionate about what they do and the nonprofits they serve. A great set of loyal clients that completely stand by Blackbaud.

    Cons

Communication barriers across departments. Antiquated classic products that are just now moving in a more modern direction.

    Advice to Management

Keep making the right investments, carrying about our clients, and your employees.

    Pros

Fantastic company, product, culture and mission. Well run compared to other Fortune 2000/5000 companies - strong annual review process, HR function, transparency about corporate performance and board/stockholder relations, and fantastic products.

    Cons

Bureaucratic, slow to change and constant reorganizations due to leadership changes leads to some inefficiencies. Nonprofit customers can also be extremely demanding without the services or contract rewards to match the demands.

    Advice to Management

Consider investing in a product innovation lab and creating a corporate culture that allows product/engineering teams to fail fast, make rapid progress on new product ideas and drive new ideas into the market faster.

    Pros

Great people. generous time off. Nice facility. Good training. Overall a great starter job. Company is very profitable.

    Cons

Dated software but a new one is coming soon. average - below average pay at all levels of employment. A lot of stress and responsibility for the low pay and almost non existent pay raise after 1 yr. Share some of the profits!

    Pros

The company has great people, decent pay and benefits and most managers will help with career development as best they are able to.

    Cons

Blackbaud is notorious for layoffs (basically happen annually, even if they don't have to officially be called "layoffs" by the SEC definition), so if you get a job here be sure to build up your emergency fund and be prepared for anything. even if you love your job at BB if something better happens to come your way you should probably take it b/c they won't hesitate to let you go if it suits their interests. Also, unfortunately, the products of theirs are basically windows 95 dinosaurs and anything new they're developing really appears to be already out of date so working in marketing can be challenging as you're trying to convince people to spend way too much for way too little.

    Advice to Management

i hope you're able to successfully make the transition to a SAAS model with better products otherwise i really do question the companies long term prospects.

    Pros

Good opportunities for career growth - pay is well if you are in sales

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunity for growth at the management/director level. They tend to stay in those positions for a long time.

    Pros

    - People and work/life balance are great. - Industry-leading vendor with new, focused executive leadership that is righting the ship.

    Cons

    - The Titanic doesn't exactly turn on a dime - it will take time to sort out a complicated and inflated product portfolio in a meaningful way. - Salaries are decent but lag in the tech sector. Management is happy to sacrifice top talent for cheaper/mediocre talent.

    Advice to Management

The current trends are positive. Keep it up.
