  1. Well meaning company, but needs to listen to their employees more

    Pros

    Great PTO policy, friendly management

    Cons

Lots of problems with internal communication. I also think that the Blackbaud acquisition has only been making the Luminate products and Austin office worse and less efficient over time.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to realize their biggest asset is that these companies they acquire have unique viewpoints that have made them successful. By trying to homogenize them to be more like the rest of the company, you lose out on what made them great enough to want to acquire them in the first place.

    Pros

Great opportunity to help organizations who are giving back to the world, while still making a decent living.

    Cons

Very imbalanced pay structure, with certain wraps making an obscene amount of money compared to other reps do way more work.

    Advice to Management

Do more than just provide lipservice about career advancement, stop limiting Indianapolis office employees and open up channels of advancement to Charleston based jobs.

I have been working at Blackbaud (More than a year)

    Pros

The people! Everyone who works there is kind, smart, and passionate about what they do. Working with non profits is great, especially in an industry that isn't typically known for helping the world. Helping our clients do real good in the world makes going into the office way every day more rewarding. Great, supportive culture that really promotes a good work/life balance and camaraderie between teams as well. Pretty good benefits as well - good PTO programs, 401k matching, and good health care.

    Cons

They don't pay as well as other companies in the industry and the management is frustrating at times. The legacy products are also outdated and can be frustrating to work with.

    Advice to Management

Continue to put in the effort to actually promote our values through example and opportunity instead of empty promises. There is a great employee base, so try to hold onto them.

I worked at Blackbaud full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really great people, some fascinating customers and projects, great energy.

    Cons

13 phone calls in one day, most days, and over forty customer accounts made it difficult to be successful but easy to bill hours.

    Advice to Management

Load people fairly, don't reward people for a great job by giving them the work of underperformers.

    I worked at Blackbaud full-time

    Pros

full msft shop..pushes new technologies quickly

    Cons

consolidation of companies is not smooth -

    Advice to Management

legacy managers are in positions they should not be probably from office politics. Close the expensive legacy Boston office. Invest in Charleston and Austin with the latter being the better investment.
