    Pros

Company culture is great, the people are really young and fun to work with.
Summer Fridays are really nice for the duration of the internship.
Most people are very accessible so you can do a lot if you want.
Get exposure to senior leadership in the form of presentations/Q&A.

    Cons

Pay - it's about on par for the industry but still could be better.
The work itself is really easy so you could get bored rather quickly.
There were too many interns hired. It's great to make friends but there weren't enough resources (laptops, desks) to maintain so many of us.

    Pros

    - Great brand
    - Steep learning curve for first couple of years
    - Work with some of the best brands in the industry

    Cons

    - Low pay
    - A lot of politics
    - Not much upward mobility beyond buyer
    - There are many "lifers" who don't pull their weight

    Advice to Management

Be more open to change. Junior merchants are largely the target customer, and have a good sense of what else is going on in the market. Retail is changing and so should Bloomingdale's.
