    Thought this was 2013

    Case Manager (Current Employee)
    Richardson, TX

ProsGood insurance and good benefits with some of the plans-fair premiums compared to most plans outside of the company. Some are allowed to telecommute if you meet your goals.

ConsNo chance for advancement if you are not friends with certain people. People that have no experience are hired and paid wages higher than those that are experienced. Work-life balance is advertised a a perk and that you would be allowed to work alternate work schedules, but again it is based on who you know; if you are allowed to do this. People of color do not advance well in the case management section. You can apply and apply from within and never get an interview.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop playing favorites and stop all of the bickering and back-biting. Listen to your staff they are the one doing the job.

BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD ASSOCIATION-Federal Employee Program

Business and Plan Operations (Former Employee)
    Washington, DC

ProsVery friendly atmosphere, you can speak to Executive Directors since they are accessible, unless they are very busy with meetings. Great place for people with experience, not good if you are an intern and working in a department that necessitate high level education

ConsMeeting-heavy, everything must be done in consensus. In my internship, I didn't get to learn the nitty-gritty of business performance. Other interns had far more work to do than me and got to learn more.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake your internship more comprehensive
