I enjoyed withing at Capital BlueCross despite the bureaucracy.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosgreat benefits. generous time off and training opportunities. Tuition reimbursement.

ConsVery political envioronment. Many employees are resistant to change. Years of service seem to mean more than skillset when it comes to promotion and pay.

Advice to Senior ManagementConduct more HR functions in-house. Hire additional HR staff to recruit younger workers. Promote based on work ethic and performance, not on time served.

ProsThe company has great opportunities for those who are willing to work very hard to move forward in their careers.

ConsNo matter how long, hard or dedicated you were for the company you will always be considered a number never forget that.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou are only as good as the people that work for you. Truly invest in listening to your employees and not putting on the act of pretending to care. You will be amazed at how much change you will see in the work you get back.

As good as you put intoit.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Abilene, TX

ProsExcellent pay and benefits. A liberal amount of PTO and paid vacations. You simply have to plan ahead. A wise person won't use all of their PTO as soon as they get it.

ConsYou stay busy but that is what you are supposed to do in a professional environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementSr. Management does have the knack of micro-managing and it trickles down from the top.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Horizon

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Newark, NJ

Prosflexible with work and family life in my current department

Conssalary low and not much opportunity to advance professionally

Advice to Senior ManagementInstead of forcing job title changes that people are not satisfied with (without a choice unless it's to leave the company), should review the actual work that is being performed and recognize/reward high contributors. Terrible HR.

    – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
