    Pros

    Steady income and limited fear of layoffs. I enjoyed my limited stay with this company but needed to move on to something more challenging and with better options for advancement. Nice people to work with but most have limited aspirations for more out of a job.

    Cons

    Paid and Benefits- loss a big client to Aetna and prospects with larger company less available. Advancement opportunities tied to connections and who your buddies were not work ethic or commitment to job or clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus on Women in leadership roles and become more inclusive work place.

    Pros

    My team was like my family, terrific support my benefits were amazing; better that the usual and great vacation time made it a major plus.

    Cons

    Heavy work load and long hours, really hard to move up to management. Stress was a major factor and made for low morale.

    Listen to your employees and help them achieve their goals.

    Upper management is smart but CEO Brad Wilson is outsourcing as much as possible.

    Cons

    Many low-level supervisors not qualified and/or afraid to think for themselves.

    Part with lower level sups who are not able to think beyond the immediate numbers.

    Pros

    The office has great benefits, some areas are great to work with, and promotions mostly occur with Upper Management.

    Cons

    The compensation for employees with initiating dedicated skills and a hard worker receive minimum compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Some upper management teams members participate in position and they are not familiar with the roles or responsibilities. This does not allow the team to become a strong matrix.

    Pros

    The leadership was very knowledgeable and helpful when help was required. The office culture was a typical large company.

    Cons

    There was no discussion about personal growth or information on how to become a fulltime employee for contractors. The only way I saw that in action was the management decided to bring a contractor on as full time.

    More of an open door concept is needed.

    Pros

    Decent training, you had a few weeks to learn the system.

    Cons

    Typical call center environment, emphasis is on quantity not quality. Didn't really feel there was an easy way to get help from a "higher-up".

    Pros

    The pay and work location in the Chicago loop are great

    Cons

    Busy work, lack of challenging work. Ineffective reporting structure. Too much time spent on department projects, hours of meetings leaving not much time to do your actual job. Unless you are willing to be the earliest bird in the morning, and the one who leaves last at night, you'll be overlooked. Lack of work life balance and ability to flex your schedule when practical.

    Pros

    Company's greatest asset is its people that come from a wide variety of backgrounds and are generally smart, motivated, and team-oriented individuals.

    Cons

    Senior management lacks strong leadership and the will to change culture. Project management is chaotic that highlights the extreme lack of good project and people managers. Managers in place have been promoted based almost exclusively on individual accomplishments (especially for those that are great at setting up meetings), with little based on ability to manage and lead people. This is made worse by the fact that senior management appears to lack trust in its managers to actually have direct reports that would present great opportunities to develop people management/development skills. This best illustrated by there being many Managing Directors and Directors who lack the ability (and seemingly lack interest) in managing their direct reports, giving little actionable/clear guidance and blaming everyone else when things don't go as planned instead of themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Strong leadership does not always mean good leadership. Place greater emphasis on developing and promoting individuals who are actual effective managers of not only projects, but people. Believe it or not, your low and mid level staff are your greatest assets, but you are disconnected from what those individuals value in a workplace. Hiring more MD's and Directors that just sit in meetings all day and don't actually do any of the footwork, while all of your more junior staff leave is not the answer. Everyone recognizes the potential the company has in being a truly great place to work, but ultimately become jaded and leave after less than a couple years on the job.
