Management is terrible. No regard or respect for employees at all.

    Pros

Employees and customers were fun. Flexible hours in terms of day versus night. Good discount on the food there. That is all the positive I can think of.

    Cons

Management is a disaster. We had one manager who would treat employees like dirt. If she didn't like something you did , even if it was an honest mistake, she would scream at you in front of the whole dining room. Schedules wouldn't come out until the day before and they had no
Problem reminding you that you were disposable.

    Advice to Management

Treat you employees with respect and maybe you will have a better running store and company.

    Pros

Decent benefits, you will meet a lot of interesting people, good job if you don't have a family or outside hobbies

    Cons

Zero work life balance, upper management is useless, bad food safety standards, managers who have no business being managers

    Advice to Management

Treat people the way you want to be treated

    Pros

Someplace for old people to eat.

    Cons

Wouldn't know where to start with this. The food is bland. They're trying to be something they're not with appetizers, a bakery and whatnot.

    Pros

Customers were great! Some of the staff were good, others were either on drugs or had personality disorders

    Cons

Upper Management did not support the Managers, treated servers with more respect. Alot of theft was taking place, to the point that someone was leaving the back door open at night to gain access after hours. Be careful if you work here or they might blame you for stealing. You will be worked 60-70 hrs per week.

    Advice to Management

    Start supporting your Managers!

    Pros

Fun coworkers, fast paced, fun, simple job, great first job, easy application and interview, good way to make wonderful friends

    Cons

Okay, this job was my first job and i have not cried this much at a business ever. Most of the management is kind but some acts like Bob Evans is the most important thing ever, this job is easy but management sometimes makes it a living hell, unfair hours, i was working like 15 hours when i was out of college, 25-27 when i was in college, (aiding in my flunking half my classes) when i told the GM that i had another job, i was bumped form 15 hours to 30+, which basically screwed me over with getting out of this place, i have been bullied by the GM multiple times, i have been to the point of sobbing, which i think is unprofessional for a business manager, i am constantly exhausted, because of my schedule now, management allows employees to go on tyrants and get away with anything and everything, GM hires unreliable people, overall a horrible place besides meeting amazing people in the same hell-boat.

    Advice to Management

STOP BEING SO IGNORANT, stop bullying employees, stop discriminating, STOP TAKING SMOKE BREAKS ON THE PROPERTY, follow regulation

    Pros

The people you work with are amazing so friendly and make you feel like family. Very helpful when you need a hand. Uniform is pretty casual and comfortable. Majority of the food is good.

    Cons

Managers need some training, things you learn working there is disgusting an makes you never want to eat out again. Watching all the things that happens in back is just unsettling.

    Advice to Management

I think some of the stores preferably Irwin pa's Bob Evans needs new managers or they need taught about food service and what is healthy and not healthy example.. Don't just cut moldy spots off of vegetables and continue to serve them to customers and don't change the dates on expired foods when the inspector comes around.

    Pros

Most of the people at the corporate office are a great bunch of people to work with. The new office is fabulous and very convenient location.

    Cons

Leadership is lacking. Several key personnel have left the company along with many members of finance and accounting. Work is extremely stressful, little to no recognition, long hours, and little or no annual raise. Talk of a headcount reduction increases the stress.

    Advice to Management

Be open with your employees and be more appreciative. Employees are leaving because of the way they are treated.

    Pros

You learn how to give excellent customer service, how to work in a team, food safety...

    Cons

Management is awful. They can never agree on anything, and talk to the employees like we're trash. Not worth the stress and abuse.

    Advice to Management

Maybe consider training your management to work more cohesively and be less abusive to employees.

    Pros

The people you work with are mostly great.

    Cons

Poor work life balance. Terrible training and terrible management depending on the store. Upper management is nearly impossible to get a hold.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to what goes on with your GM's. Corporate is very very disconnected from the frontline.
