    I worked at Body Central full-time

    Pros

    Was a good environment if you were capable in your capacity, flexible hours and low stress.

    Cons

    Well, the company closed it's doors after 40 years so that falls into the con category.

    Advice to Management

    Better luck next time, try to not run the company into the ground.

    I worked at Body Central full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The 40% off discount was amazing! Pretty much gave most of my paycheck back to the company. ....used to be lots of incentives and rewards to let you know you were appreciated. They all but disappeared in the last 5 years

    Cons

    Tons of daily tasks that had you running around like crazy all day trying to get them finished. Meanwhile corporate constantly preached that customers are #1, but customer service was never a sufficient reason as to why your tasks weren't done. Also, the clothing took a nosedive in trend and supply and demand. Buyers must have been asleep at the wheel

    Advice to Management

    It doesn't matter now - all the begging and pleading associates and managers did for corporate to listen to our suggestions fell on deaf ears and now 2500+ workers are out of a job with 48 hrs notice

    Pay PTO Great DM Great team of ASM and SA at my store

    Cons

    Long hours I was hired a few months ago and just found out the company was in financial trouble since 2013 I just wish I had done my research about the company's financial background.

    Advice to Management

    My DM was awesome and very supportive of her team. I wish her well!

    I have been working at Body Central full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    40% discount Higher starting salary for management versus other fast fashion retailers.

    Cons

    The IT department is rude majority of the time. No one ever answers the phone and home-office. They cut people from home office every other week to cut costs. They want us to be sales based but only give enough hours for two people to be in the building, and enough shipment and tasking to do for those two people to be occupied.

    Advice to Management

    Dm's need to be evaluated by store managers. I understand their bosses are the regional directors but I think it makes more sense to see if they are actually doing their jobs.

    Pros

    40% Discount on clothes. Meet interesting people. If you show initiative there's room for promotion.

    Cons

    I started out as full time & then they cut my hours in half, & I didn't get any raise after being there a year. Pay sucks but average for retail. Ideal for someone in school or just to get experience & move on to something better.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees & stop doing so many frequent floor set changes.
