I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company spent time and effort to make their employs feel special and need. The company made if clear that their success was depended on us and how well we peformed our jobs

    Cons

Some of the managers made life difficult by passing their short coming down to those under them.

    Advice to Management

I would be worth the effort to give phycological exams on those being considered for manager and above positions.

    Pros

Outstanding comp plan, company has an excellent work force at all levels.

    Cons

Got rid of to many senior people and it is effecting company performance.

    Advice to Management

They need to hire some of their senior people back as the current officers are not seasoned enough to deliver outstanding performance.

    Cons

Stability due to layoffs, Promotions, AES (Achieving Excellence System) become reduntant with lack of added value in many cases.

    Advice to Management

It's sad to see that employees read things first about the company on the newspapers.

    Pros

Great atmosphere, great colleagues. Good benefits.

    Cons

The ideas are welcome as long as they are aligned with company's goal. You are asked to give your opinion but nothing is done when you raise issues.

    Advice to Management

Spend some time and money on R&D. The technology is evolving fast and we are not moving as fast. Spend more on your employees and they wilk become your ambassadors. Clients are important, but your business is run by good employees. They come and go as soon as a better opportunity comes along...make them stay.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The salary for the responsibility given was more then adequate The coaching provided was immaculate leaving more then enough room to grow The separation benefit offered was generous and considerate for the period worked

    Cons

The only down side i can think off is the ending off the position I held May be the fact that it happened quite quickly, and the policy in place with many large companies, that you have to leave at that moment seems to be robbing people of there dignity

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A company that is prepared to take risks, invest in the future and develop employees to an extent. Employee communication has improved a lot. Lovely atmosphere in many departments, often a great cultural mix.

    Cons

The can be issues of silos: such as between particular business divisions. Employee turnover was a challenge in some areas. Remnants of autocratic ways of working can remain, but has improved.

    Advice to Management

Continue to take well judged risks - as you have in the past. Invest in talent: some of your engineers are many times more productive than others - find a way to reward that. Continue to promote communication and movement of skills/people across business divisions.
