I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company spent time and effort to make their employs feel special and need.
The company made if clear that their success was depended on us and how well we peformed our jobs

    Cons

Some of the managers made life difficult by passing their short coming down to those under them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would be worth the effort to give phycological exams on those being considered for manager and above positions.

    Pros

Outstanding comp plan, company has an excellent work force at all levels.

    Cons

Got rid of to many senior people and it is effecting company performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to hire some of their senior people back as the current officers are not seasoned enough to deliver outstanding performance.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The salary for the responsibility given was more then adequate
The coaching provided was immaculate leaving more then enough room to grow
The separation benefit offered was generous and considerate for the period worked

    Cons

The only down side i can think off is the ending off the position I held
May be the fact that it happened quite quickly, and the policy in place with many large companies, that you have to leave at that moment seems to be robbing people of there dignity

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace

    Pros

Great atmosphere, great colleagues. Good benefits.

    Cons

The ideas are welcome as long as they are aligned with company's goal. You are asked to give your opinion but nothing is done when you raise issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend some time and money on R&D. The technology is evolving fast and we are not moving as fast. Spend more on your employees and they wilk become your ambassadors. Clients are important, but your business is run by good employees. They come and go as soon as a better opportunity comes along...make them stay.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A company that is prepared to take risks, invest in the future and develop employees to an extent. Employee communication has improved a lot. Lovely atmosphere in many departments, often a great cultural mix.

    Cons

The can be issues of silos: such as between particular business divisions. Employee turnover was a challenge in some areas. Remnants of autocratic ways of working can remain, but has improved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to take well judged risks - as you have in the past. Invest in talent: some of your engineers are many times more productive than others - find a way to reward that. Continue to promote communication and movement of skills/people across business divisions.

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Many projects in development will assure solid future for upcoming years. Workload is high during development and flight test of new aircraft. Interesting work. Compensation is competitive locally. Good benefits. New programs present opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Approach to implementation of quality initiatives somewhat robotic. Integration function given a lot of importance, at the expense of technical expertise, Many projects dilute technical expertise somewhat.

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace full-time

    Pros

Good work-life balance, good oppotunity for development thanks to a pretty solid career and personal development program. Fun to work for an organization who`s products get lots of media attention, it can help put your daily work into perspective.

    Cons

As with many companies, it takes alot of hard work and networking to get ahead. There is alot of internal movement but of course alot of competition.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's a great company to recruit for. The calibre of people working there are the best I've worked with. The hiring managers were extremely impressive people! Everyone is very proud to be there as was I! Lots of long tenured employees. It's an incredibly interesting place to work!

    Cons

With any large company there will always be changes in process. There is process improvement but then there are extremes. If you like routine and are bothered with constant changes in policies and procedures, then this will be an issue. Lots of turnover in Human Resources.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees there need to take more vacation. There seems to be a very high level of stress and pressure and that can be relieved with more time off. Some employees under a certain pay grade are not entitled to take any vacation days during their first 12 months of employment and I found that to be strange.
