    Pros

    People in Montreal are nice.

    Cons

People are always sleeping at work. People are very old. They don't get rid of the useless people. They keep the weakest link. People are not qualified to do their work. People refuse to help out one another out of self interest threat.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the useless employees! They can sleep at home!

    Pros

    Plenty of overtime during holidays

    Cons

If you were to loose your A&P, it would be at this facility. I personally witnessed several near fatal accidents. One on take off and one at night during landing. Stories of prior disasters, deaths were kept quiet. Idiotic, useless safety rules. Poor use of technical publications. Rampant Nepotism. Noticeable levels of theft among employees. Below average intelligence of new hires. Lack of attention to detail. Poor interpretation of FAA guidelines and regulations. Inept hiring practices. Inexperienced inspectors. Non logical approach to standard inspection processes. Non compliance to Bombardier policy. Poor salary offerings to direct employees. This center will inevitably tarnish the Bombardier Corporate image.

    Advice to Management

No more than two employee may be related to each other. A minimum of three years experience on fixed wing should be required. French Canadien blue prints are NOT American standard blue prints. Treat your direct employees and contractors who produce, as though they matter... Remember, its them, not you -who bring the dollars.

    Pros

Loads of experience. Friendly and helpful coworkers.

    Cons

The Challenger program has their mavericks and golden children. Contractors are not treated like a team. They are constantly sent good me when there is no work to be done. There is also a lack of mentorship with new hires starting out on the floor. Depending which lead you work for, you may have someone who is honest to goodness mentor. But if unlucky, you will work for a lead who expects you to hit the floor running and know where everything is located and know how to fill pit paperwork. Not to mention, k ow how to work the aircraft if you never had the chance to previously. There is a lack of accountability on training and mentoring. Somew leads do not care if you know the plane. They think if you can read the tech nmanuals, you can fix the airplane with little to zero experience. HR on the Business side of aviation shows favoritism and needs to get there's act together. They terminate contractors without a paper trail. There is corruption in the HR dept.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites and GROOM employees. Stop the nepotism and favoritism. Also, if you want to get rid of someone, start a paper trail. Lastly, treat new employees (contractors or otherwise) with respect. And do them the favor on training them.

    Pros

The salary that Bombardier offers is very competitive in the Private Aviation sector. There are also 9 paid holidays. PTO, or paid time off is also available. If you are of certain ethnicities, you will be recruited aggressively. If you are not of those ethnicities, it will take months of persistence, follow-up, and calling to even be considered for a position.

    Cons

The management at this location is incompetent, spineless, and without a personal morality compass. If anything goes wrong, managers hide in their offices. If employees are disruptive, or create conflict, you can expect that your manager will turn a blind eye to the situation. You are on your own. It is a Hostile work environment with no teamwork.

    Advice to Management

Take a stand. Believe in Something, and work to make it happen. Say Hello to people you work with. Look people in the eye. Have a spine and discipline the employees who create trouble instead of continuing to lose qualified, good employees.

    Pros

    - Kingston ON is a nice place to live
    - Most of the engineers were helpful and pleasant
    - Good place to start a career - use Bombardier to pay for your training and then move on to a company that actually cares about you and will pay you a good wage
    - Looks good on your resume

    Cons

    - Most of the managers were not well liked; for good reasons
    - Stifling atmosphere - very little innovation occurring
    - My job description did not match the actual job I had to do when I was hired - very disappointed by this

    Advice to Management

    - Stop trying to micro-manage everything
    - Get rid of the incompetent middle managers - management should not be an advancement opportunity for everyone - only those that show they can handle it well
    - When someone has repeated issues, don't keep giving them the same responsibilities to screw up

    Pros

good paying job with good benefits

    Cons

company cut holiday time because i work a 12 hour shift and to the company a work day is 8 hours so they cut 2 holidays off.
the company waits for things to break before the spend money on maintenance.
cut employees and expects the same results.

    Advice to Management

slow down, spend the companies money wisely, do things right the first time so you dont have to pay for thing to get done again. treat salaried employees better than contractors

    Pros

International, good people (although most of the good ones are trying to get out) and exposure to big projects... That's about all.

    Cons

People are not assets but commodities. Bullying is rife and Snr exec are far removed from reality.

    Advice to Management

Employee engagement is not doing a survey once a year. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Schedules are flexible, you can have a good balance between workload and life after work.

    Cons

There's a lot of favoritism for new opening positions, we don't trust anymore in our leaders, there's no motivation, no salary increments since two years.

    Pros

You are never bored, as your day never goes the way you expected it; you'll learn a lot on the go

    Cons

Quality sucks, HR sucks, IT sucks, organisational changes is the only thing the company consistantly puts efforts into (and even that sucks, nonetheless), best employees leave, not feeling appreciated or even noticed; mediocre remain; career advancement is based on favouritism and they'll rather take a less experienced external than promote their own great employees; turnover is more important than profitability… and you can only guess what this results in.

    Advice to Management

    Retire!
