Excellent learning experience at a company with clear values and excellent work quality

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsAmazing people, challenging problems, fast learning and development, career acceleration, and fun culture. I really have enjoyed getting to know my cohort of other colleagues that started with me and have found some great more senior mentors.

ConsClient services can be inherently challenging, although I believe BCG does a good job to try to innovate and protect people's time when they can

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to innovate -- excited to see some of the new ventures

    Open and friendly enviornment.

Intern (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsAt my current position I have flexible hours and the time-off policies are very lenient. There are many promotion opportunities, whether you seek to grow in your current field or would like to start a new career path within the same organization.

ConsThe standard is set very high.

Joined BCG post college, spent 4 years with the firm in Southeast Asia and NYC

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsInternational mobility, fast promotion post under-grad position, exposure to senior leadership both at BCG and at clients and opportunity to work in wide variety of industries. Firm really cares about you and takes good care of you

ConsHeavy travel and occasionally long hours are an inevitable feature of consulting. Industry choices can be constrained by work that is available.

It's simply a fantastic company to work with. Great people, great culture and values and a lot of fun.

Marketing Manager (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsThe culture, the people, the overall working environment and topics we work on. We have a lot of inspiring people within the company, work on many topics that matter not only for the business, but also society. Overall it's simply great to be a BCGer ;-)

ConsThe working hours are a clear con; as well the amount of travel (in many regions), maybe the on-boarding of new staff could be better, as it's really though to start with BCG.

    BCG is people-centric and values-driven

Summer Consultant (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsThe people are extremely smart, compassionate, and interesting. They care about each other. Employees are allowed to keep their beards.

The work is among the most stimulating in the world. Working at BCG is some of the best business training available, with a first-class network to boot.

ConsEmployees move up on a certain timeline, which is common to consulting companies. For an employee with varied interests, it's important to be very deliberate about which projects are selected so as to get exposure to the areas of highest priority before moving to the next role. As you achieve seniority, there is less leeway to start in a new area with no previous knowledge.

    had a wonderful time

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Prosto succeed at this job, you will need to work hard. However, it has been one of the most rewarding job ever. Like all management consulting jobs, it is very intellectually stimulating.

ConsYou will have to travel. I traveled for about 80% of my cases. It suited me fine in the beginning, but later on I decided I wanted a more stationary job.
