I have been working at Boston Scientific (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and incentive programs, onsite gym with classes, great people, a lot of development opportunities and ways to get involved through employee resource groups and social groups.

    Cons

Work/life balance still needs a little work, low visibility from senior leadership, career advancement is a slow process here.

I worked at Boston Scientific as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learned a lot about soldering, laser welding, and medical components. Designed prototypes from scratch. Lots of freedom with exploratory testing.

    Cons

Spent too much time looking through a microscope (hurts the eyes). People/attention were pulled away from my program, leaving me little to do.

I worked at Boston Scientific full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Pay, stellar products and smart people at all levels.. Always have a way to differentiate your products from the competition to offer value to each customer

    Cons

Sometimes the goal setting can be unfair based on who they allow to excel and who they decide to dump the revenue growth on.. Top notch business performance can be negated by unrealistic growth goals..

    Advice to Management

Make sure managers are fair when giving out annual revenue growth goals.

I worked at Boston Scientific as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people there are very generous and helpful. I was a temp there and they made you feel welcome and appreciated from day 1. I'd look forwarded to coming into work each day. Best part, you can work from home sometimes.

    Cons

Since I was a temp, didn't get offer for a permanent role. If they were to call me vack, I'll jump at the opportunity again.

    Advice to Management

    Please offer more permanent roles.

I have been working at Boston Scientific as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fellow employees are great, internship benefits include subsidized housing and free shuttle to and from work, easy to talk to upper management

    Cons

Minnesota is not an ideal location, average pay, slightly unclear what internship will entail upon application and offer

    Advice to Management

Hire more from outside of the University of Minnesota, reward higher education better, encourage unique thought and collaboration better
