    Pros

Boston Scientific is a fun atmosphere to work in. I had a great boss. The opportunity was there for the ambitious to move up quickly.

    Cons

I can easily see how one could get complacent in their current position and get kinda stuck if you don't have a go-get-it attitude.

    Advice to Management

Keep on motivating, In a big corporation money isn't always an option for motivating your employees. Find creative ways to get them involved, to make them want to be involved.

    Pros

Management is very knowledgeable and helpful. Has a Gym, Full service Cafe and you can walk a mile within the building on a cold day. People are encouraged to be healthy, Marker on the walls, tell you, how far have you walked.

    Cons

City is ARCTIC cold in winter!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

  6. Great cross functional opportunities, lost focus on people development over time.

    Pros

Fantastic cross functional opportunities in the early part of my career.

    Cons

Focus on people development and career development dwindled as the Guidant / BSC acquisition happened.
Culture was focused on results only, people were not the focus. Maintaining a healthy work life balance became very hard in many parts of the organization.

    Advice to Management

People are your asset, without them, the company does thrive. Invest in and focus on career development and developing your star talent. Also, helping your people manage a healthy work life balance is the key to satisfied, engaged, productive and creative employees!

    Pros

The company has a good work/life balance. The people who work for the company are smart, professional and personable.

    Cons

At the time I worked at the company there was a number of organizational changes. These changes cause some anxiety simply because employees are trying to figure out how they fit into the organization.

  8. I grew up with this company over an extended multi-decade career working at multiple locations.

    Pros

Exceptional Quality System and emphasis on producing the best quality product on the market. This company's systems and processes have been refined and forged by hard work and extensive scrutiny that is highly compliant, and more and more lean, resulting in a best in class medical device power house.

    Cons

Found it hard to advance. Opportunity seemed limited. Often left on your own to find your way.

    Advice to Management

There is a limit to the notion of "doing more with less". Eventually you loose your best people when this principal is over emphasized for too long.

    Pros

Good compensation and benefits compared to other companies in the same industry. Recognition for hard work. Growing company. Fast pace and professional environment.

    Cons

Since the company is a FDA controlled environment, there is a lot of "no value added work". The pace is sometimes so fast that employees are burnt-out.

    Advice to Management

Try to minimize red-tape. Please eliminate "no value added work". Employees will be much more productive and much more content.
