  • Promotes from within and hires dealers with minimum experience (in 3 reviews)

Cons
  • Too often a person in an upper management position will have either no casino experience or they are "old school" casino people (in 3 reviews)

  • Negative work environment, no recognition, top-heavy, no one seems to really care what the lower level employees feel (in 3 reviews)

    Pros

Great family company.with great core values.

    Cons

Senior management needs improvement. A lot of dead weight with one individual calling the shots.

    Advice to Management

Let your managers and directors do there jobs and stop micro-managing every aspect of the department

    Pros

Family-like atmosphere atmosphere but the family isn't really playing a lead role anymore. Lots of mid-price properties in regional markets and NV.

    Cons

Very seldom performed well-enough to pay full bonuses. Gave very few raises. Bonuses always skewed fifty per cent to the top 8 execs.

    Pros

Great co-workers. Easy job and great atmosphere. Loved working there. Recommended to anyone who works at night regularly or during the day because the wage won't support you, but it's fun.

    Cons

Little pay and not enough hours. This job won't support you, but will give you pocket money. The pay is lower than at McDonald's now.

    Advice to Management

Nothing because of what the job is.

    Pros

Corporate cares about each property and employees however the property management does not. Great benefits and promote from within.

    Cons

Boyd style is not taught at the property level. Property level executives do not follow the essence of Boyd.

    Advice to Management

Need to evaluate the property executives and see why they don't continue customer service training and Boyd style. They are worrying about pennies and not promoting the property properly. Customer recognizition and growth is lacking

    Pros

Team members are always willing to help in my department, very small turn over rate (in my department) upper management that mentors

    Cons

They pay isn't up there for the amount and level of work expected. Benefits package is available and that's better than many company's but the packages get more and more expensive each year.

Great chance to be promoted no matter how long with the company but pay probably isn't worth it.

    Pros

Working environment is great to work for. Great chance to promote from within.

    Cons

Pay scale is not competitive at all and especially if you are promoted internally. Will probably make bottom 10 percent of what the average pay for your job is. Also HR won't take your opinion of pay in to account nor will they attempt to sit down and renegotiate pay unless SR management makes a stand and they won't.

    Advice to Management

Seriously should sit down and discuss pay or put in place a system where employees can get increases in pay especially for internal employees who have put time in with the company to match market value that is current with other casinos or at least comparable to the average pay of the job you do.

    Pros

The people are really great to work with and it is never a boring job. You can definitely tell Management tries to make up for the lack of pay.

    Cons

The pay is very low for the amount of work put in. Very stressful environment at times.

    Pros

This is a great company to work for to gain some valuable first hand experience. Great team environment and a great sense of job security. The company strives to provide whatever is necessary for you to fulfill your job functions as effectively as possible.

    Cons

No growth plan for employees. virtually no raises and no way to "grow" as you gain better experience. Just stuck. Obnoxious dress code for corporate team members who work in cubicles all day. Salaries could be a lot more competitive, I would not call it a "living" wage...

    Advice to Management

If they make salaries more competitive and offer regular raises based on performance and delivery then there would probably be less turnover.
